Weekend Reading 29.08.26
It’s felt like a very long week for me with a lot of time on the road. I hope to spend a lot of time on my couch, electric fireplace on, either knitting or reading. I know I’ll also be working on blog posts… especially the bear one 🐻.
This is what I wore Thursday while working from home, then out to a casual dinner at a local restaurant. You may not know this about me, but I have a special talent. More often than not, I close my eyes at the exact moment my husband snaps my picture. It’s happened so often, we expect it and laugh about it now.
Bestsellers – what readers loved most this week:
- This Talbots Twill Peacoat was very popular this week. It’s a bright cobalt blue that’s fun for fall.
- The gorgeous washable runner that I just ordered too was a bestseller this week and is now on sale for Labor Day. This rug was a very close second, which I wish I had room for in my condo.
- Quite a few of you ordered my favorite waist pack, and you will love it. I can’t say enough good things about it and own it in three colors.
- I’m not the only one who loved the look of these pre-lit flocked holiday trees. They come in several heights, and I especially like their base.
- We are approaching sweater weather, and this Talbots Knit Sweater Blazer appealed to quite a few readers.
- This Talbots denim dress was also super popular and seems to be a favorite with our community this week.
Highlights from the weekend sales:
Talbots still has a big sale going on. I adore the shape and color of this double-faced belted coat and have it in my cart. I don’t wear lace often, but this deep chocolate top has been on my radar for days. And yes, I’m also thinking about this leopard coat! Rag & Bone has up to 50% off some great styles, including this Miramar Harlow ankle sweatshirt jean. Both of my Miramars are this wide leg (also marked down), so I’m seriously tempted by the straight leg. ➡ scroll right to see more in the widget
Ruggables Labor Day Sale is on with up to 30% off. This Leopard rug has been haunting me for months, but I haven’t got the right location for it because you need an open furniture arrangement. This Panthere rug has been very popular on AWSL, and there is a place for it in our condo…Hmmm

Ruti’s sale is going strong and selling out fast. I have their longline denim jacket and love it.
J.Jill has their end-of-season sale with an extra 40% off all sale styles. They just added this Ikat jacket to the sale, and it’s a good one. This cotton gauze popover is great for three seasons. Not on sale, but a fabulous fall jacket.
Chico’s end-of-season clearance is on, plus 25% off new tops, dresses, Brigitte and Juliet pants.
Lane Bryant has a so-long-summer sale with an extra 70% off clearance, and 10 panties for $39.50.
Faherty has a bundle-and-save sale.
Eby still has my favorite Relief bra marked down, and they’ve now sold over a million of them…which I totally understand.
