Weekend Reading 8.08.26

How did the weekend get here so fast? Here’s what I wore to work from home on Thursday, and yes, I need to find a better background in the condo for pictures. It’s a tiny place, so I’m limited.

I never left the house, but if I had, I’d probably have pulled on my new lavender cotton gauze wrap or a cardigan. Losing these few pounds has been great for my sore feet, but it took a toll on my arms.

JUMPSUIT – S / SILVER FLIP FLOPS / HOOP EARRINGS

I love the ease of these soft cotton gauze jumpsuits and now own it in three colors. At $49, why not? A reader asked me how I managed the restroom in these without having it land on the floor, so I thought you might get a kick out of the mechanics I use 😆.

First, I pull both legs up to my knees, pinch my knees together to prevent it from hitting the floor, then I pull the top down. Easy peasy. They’ve never touched the floor and are so incredibly comfortable.

Bestsellers of the week: what readers loved most:

  • The Paul Green sneakers I’ve been loving and wearing for over 10 years. When I think of the cost per wear of these sneakers, they’re very, very low. They’re not cheap, so I was surprised to see they were near the top of the bestsellers this week!
  • My Lands’ End Cooling Button-up was a bestseller again this week. It does come in several colors, but I’m a huge fan of the white.
  • These Barefoot Dreams PJ’s were also a huge bestseller. I have a set from a few years ago and wear them as loungewear around the house and for short local errands. Frankly, they’d be pretty bulky as pajamas.
  • My favorite cotton panties were also super popular. They’re incredibly comfy and don’t show under white pants…in the nude shade.
  • These Westport Illusion Pull-on Jeans were also a bestseller. I loved my blue wash so much, I ordered a black pair too.
  • These lightweight, cooling slip shorts again and always. I’m living in mine this summer, and many of you are too.
  • Many of you decided this Hydrangea Chappy Wrap I ordered looked perfect for you too. The blue is so pretty.

Highlights from the weekend sales:

*The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale wraps up tomorrow, and prices go back up on their new fall merchandise. Yes, many things sold out, but there is still stock in lots of great pieces.

*Talbots has 60% off selected markdowns.

*Frank & Eileen has brought in their August collection with lots of plaids and denim. But in the meantime, they’ve also got some favorites on sale:

*Rag & Bone has up to 50% off on select pieces. I have a quick story about my favorite Miramar sweatshirt jeans. They accidentally went through the dryer and, as expected, shrank. I figured I was out of luck, but I tossed them back in the washer on cold, then took them out and hung them to dry. Miraculously, they stretched right back to their original length. I was delighted and more than a little surprised. Here’s what caught my eye from the sale:

*Chico’s has 40% off 2 or more new tops. Their Autumn Sneak Peek has arrived, and it looks wonderful. Here’s what caught my eye from the collection:

In case you missed it:

Thanks for reading and have a fabulous weekend.

  1. Good info on sales. I’m thinking about F&E Rory dress but sleeveless. Do you wear a small? Medium? I’m unsure about the sizing.
Hope you have a relaxing weekend. Thx, Jennifer.

    1. I wear a small. They’re pretty roomy.

  2. Love the Quince gauze jumpsuit. I bought it in red. I never would have looked at it (too young for me) if you hadn’t featured it. Thanks.

    1. Nothing is too young for us if we love it and feel confident wearing it!

Love the jumpsuit on you! Cabi makes their jumpsuits with an opening in the back. Very easy to slide just the pants down in the restroom!
