Weekend Reading 8.15.26

Happy weekend. I’m still up in bear country, hoping for a glimpse of the rare Spirit Bear. I thought I’d share a peek into our rental condo in Vancouver.

We hunted for a condo with a gas fireplace, but those are few and far between here, so we compromised. We rented the nicest place we could afford in a lovely location with a view of the water, then bought this little electric fireplace.

Cheesy perhaps, but atmosphere is ridiculously important to me, and this gives the room exactly what it was missing. It throws off a bit of warmth, but the real reason I love it is the soft glow. On a gray, nasty day, it makes the whole room feel instantly cozier.

Bestsellers – what you loved most this week:

• My new white shirt from Lands’ End. Funny story: I wore it into a pricey boutique where they carried a lot of Frank & Eileen last week, and the salesperson said, “I love your Frank & Eileen shirt!”
• This Lands’ End high-neck UPF 50 modest swimsuit was very popular this week, which was unusual because I don’t remember linking to it.
• This Talbots Leopard Jacket was a massive bestseller this week! Clearly, you ladies love Talbots.
• These Neoclassical Resin Outdoor Urns were popular with many readers this week. I love how classy and lightweight these are.
• My Frank & Eileen Galway Jeans were also super popular this week. I have them in both white and a pale blue wash and love them! They close with a large hook and eye, instead of a hard button.
• These cotton briefs were a bestseller again this week. They’ve been my favorites for years.

Highlights from the weekend sales:

Eileen Fisher End of Season Sale has up to 60% off. I always shop this sale because it’s full of great pieces I did not want to spring for at full price.

• I did buy this great little shirt at full price, and now it’s on sale 👀
• I’ve worn this classic shirt for years and years, so it may be time to replace it while it’s on sale.
• So many readers loved this poplin shirt, and now it’s marked down.
• A perfect forever shirt, summer after summer.
• My lavender gauze scarf is finally marked down in cornflower blue, so I bought it. These are the kind of scarves I pack and wear endlessly to add some color and coverage to an outfit.

• I love these refined denim jeans, and they’re selling fast.
• These Chathan pants are a customer favorite year after year…I have them in black.
• Perfect late summer into fall sweater in 5 colors.

Chico’s Fall Preview Styles start at $39 plus 40% off select styles.

• All animal prints are huge for fall, and this Reversible Ruana is such a fun piece for fall.
• This pullover in Parisian purple is yummy!
• Sweater and knit blazers are my favorite, for polish with comfort. This double-breasted one looks perfect for fall.

Tommy Bahama Friends and Family sale is on, with only 2 days left to save!

• This Embroidered Palm jacket is really fun.
• I love the look of this leopard sheath dress...which I know isn’t as short as it appears on the model.

Frank & Eileen. I always recommend their sale section because I know many of you love it, but not the full price.

• I have this sweater in British Navy (M) and love it!
• I have this Rory in both denim and raspberry linen…love them. The pink denim is on sale and intriguing 👀
