What to Buy from Quince: Favorite Pieces I Own and Love
With so many brands raising prices without raising their quality, Quince feels like a bit of a quiet rebellion. They focus on the basics in natural fabrics, timeless cuts, and prices that don’t make you second-guess yourself.
I’ve tried several of their pieces over the years in linen, silk, and cashmere…and they’ve all held up better than I expected. Today I’m sharing a few standouts that strike the right balance of quality and simplicity, especially if you’re looking to add something useful (and wearable) to your summer wardrobe without chasing trends.
Why I Love Quince
If you haven’t come across Quince yet, they quietly focus on what many of us are looking for..natural fabrics, classic shapes, and prices that feel fair. The quality holds up, but the cost doesn’t make your eyebrows jump. In a sea of brands raising prices without raising standards, it’s a bit of a relief.
My Most-Worn and Used Quince Pieces
Transit Quilted Duffle Bag

My daughter has had her eye on this Quilted Duffle Bag for months, so I surprised her by ordering it. When it arrived, I liked it so much that I instantly swiped it for our trip down to Washington state a few weeks ago. It has the same sleek, quilted finish and sporty shape as the MZ Wallace bags, but at a much better price. Of course, that’s the beauty of Quince… quality pieces at wallet-friendly prices, because they’re a direct-to-consumer brand. The fabric is super lightweight, so although it’s roomy, it weighs nothing!
It has lots of internal and external pockets, plus a trolley sleeve that slips over your suitcase handle. I packed a ton of things in this bag for our weekend away, so I know it’s a perfect size for a handheld carry-on. I gave hers back and plan to order one for myself.
Italian Leather Handwoven Satchel

I’ve admired Bottega’s woven bags for years but never wanted to spring for one, so when I spotted this Italian Leather Handwoven Satchel, I thought I’d give it a try. The leather is beautifully soft with a subtle sheen, and the handwoven texture gives it a classic, artisan feel. Woven leather is a nice option for summer because it lightens the look of the leather.
The size is just right for daily use, and it holds a lot without feeling oversized or bulky. I like that it comes with both top handles and a detachable strap so you can carry it hands-free if needed. I got the cognac, but I wish I had gotten the taupe. It also comes in black or ivory. All 4 are great classic neutrals for a bag.
Linen Shirt and Wide Leg Pants

This linen look is exactly the kind of outfit I reach for when I want to look pulled together without overthinking it. A matching set instantly says “polished” with very little effort…and when it’s hot, my effort level is usually pretty low.
I bought this Linen Short Sleeve Shirt in black several years ago and have worn it to death, so this spring I bought the beige. I love its relaxed, structured shape that works beautifully either buttoned up or worn open over a tank, like I’ve done here. It’s made from 100% European flax linen, and it has a naturally lived-in texture that gets softer every time you wash it.
The Linen Wide Leg Pants seem more like a straight leg than a wide leg to me, and are just as comfortable as they look. They have a soft elastic waistband with a drawstring and deep pockets, which I always appreciate. They come in 6 colors with inseams of 26, 28, or 30″. I’m wearing the 28.

Cashmere Cardigan

I have several of these Mongolian Cashmere Boyfriend Cardigans and love to give them as gifts at Christmas. When I spotted it in this denim blue, I couldn’t resist it. The oversized fit is slouchy and comfy but not overly voluminous. I’m wearing it with these Patch Pocket jeans, which were a nice surprise to me. The denim is soft and stretchy in a lovely wash for summer. They come in a 26, and 28″ inseam, and I’m wearing a 28.
Cashmere Hoodie

I bought this cashmere hoodie for our trip to the Redwoods last year and found it the perfect weight. It comes in 7+ colors and has amazing reviews. It’s a wonderful weight for layering under a blazer (which looks sharp) or as a third layer over my Quince cashmere tees. These T’s are a bit like Lay’s potato chips…it’s hard just to have one. My lavender color seems to be sold out, but it comes in 13 other colors.
Cotton Gauze Tiered Maxi Dress

This Tiered Maxi Dress is one of my newer Quince pieces, and I’m really enjoying it. I’m a huge fan of cotton gauze in the summer because it breathes and never needs ironing. It can be rather sheer in lighter colors, so I prefer darker colors to prevent show-through, and this navy fits the bill perfectly. The 100% cotton gauze fabric is soft, lightweight, and skims the body without clinging. The tiered shape isn’t usually my vibe, but the color and weight are so perfect that I’ve worn it quite a bit. The V-neckline is very flattering without feeling too revealing, and the wide straps cover my bra straps.
I’ve styled it here with a printed scarf from my wardrobe archive and my new Naot sandals, which are amazingly comfy. It’s the kind of dress you can wear casually or dress up a bit, depending on your accessories.
Not sure about going sleeveless? You’re not alone. I wrote about how I handle that here: Sleeveless Dresses When You Don’t Love Your Arms
Quince Washable Silk

Their washable silk is pretty amazing. Their silk skirts come in two lengths…this maxi length (which I’m wearing here in Champagne) and knee-length, which I have in chocolate. They’re both a pull-on style with a wide elastic waistband that lays flat. I rolled the maxi waistband over twice to get the exact length I wanted, and it stayed in place, so no hemming was required.
This 100% Organic Cotton Fisherman Boxy Cropped Cardigan is a great piece that I wear year-round. It comes in 7 colors and one stripe.
These skirts are not only beautiful and soft but also wash like a dream, which means no dry-cleaning hassle. This maxi skirt comes in 6 colors, and the knee-length is available in 11 colors plus a leopard print.

Most of the slip skirts I see brands selling are made of polyester, labeled as satin, but these ones are real silk, so they breathe and are more comfortable. I’m wearing the brown one with this color-coordinating silk cami, which comes in 9 colors plus leopard print.
Fit and Sizing Notes
I find Quince generally runs true to size. Some of the looser-fitting pieces, like the linen pants and dresses, are intentionally relaxed, so I wouldn’t size down unless you prefer a closer fit. Their website does a decent job of offering measurements and fit notes, which I always recommend checking before ordering.
Frequently Asked Questions About Quince
How does Quince quality compare to other brands?
Quince pieces feel very comparable to some higher-end brands I’ve worn. The linen softens with every wash, the silk has a lovely drape, and the cashmere is soft without being too delicate. I’ve been pleasantly surprised by how well everything holds up.
Are the Quince colors true to what you see online?
So far, yes. The neutrals have all looked consistent in person. Keep in mind that lighting and screen settings can vary, but nothing has arrived looking drastically different.
Is shipping fast?
Shipping has been reasonably quick on everything I’ve ordered…usually under a week. They offer free standard shipping on all orders, which is a nice touch.
Are returns really free and easy?
Yes. Quince offers free returns for 365 days, and the process is simple. I’ve only returned one item and had no issues at all.
Does Quince offer petite sizes?
Not yet, but hope springs eternal. Some of their styles work well for shorter frames, and some pants come with varying inseams.
Quince has become a go-to for me when I’m looking for well-made pieces that are versatile, easy to wear, and budget-friendly. I’ve tried everything from their linen sets to silk tops and cashmere, and the quality has been solid across the board. If you’re trying to simplify your wardrobe with pieces that feel good, hold up over time, and don’t scream “last season,” they’re worth checking out.
Have you tried anything from Quince yet?

I am pleased with everything Quince. Delivery is super fast and there has been no issue with quality. On the rare occasion returns have been smooth and painless. I’m 5’4” so pant length might be off (once). As a forever Chico gal will add Quince for practical comfort and casual wear at a more reasonable price.
I love the quality of Quince clothing. I’m very disappointed that they don’t ship to Canada. I’d buy a lot more clothes if we had a store in Canada.
I’ve heard they are looking into shippng to Canada. They are a direct to consumer brand and don’t have stores anywhere.
I’m also a fan of Quince. In addition to sweaters and a washable silk blouse , I have their percale sheets. The sheets are really nice. I highly recommend them.
Great to know, thanks for the tip Nancy!
My daughters bought me a leather tote from Quince for my birthday! It is very well made and I use it everyday. I wish Quince offered plus sizes in their clothing, their clothes look very nice. ☺️
Hopefully they will expand their size range!
I’ve just started purchasing from Quince and love the clothes! Right now I’m wearing my linen drawstring pants and they feel like pajamas. I also purchased a polo shirt for my husband and it’s one of his favorites.
Doesn’t ship to Canada 🥹🥹
Hopefully soon, I did hear that is in the works
I have not ordered anything from Quince yet, but I keep hearing great things, so now I must try them! Wondering if you have some tips on styling girlfriend chinos, particularly khaki. I just bought some from J.Crew and they feel great on, but I don’t seem to have any great ideas of what to wear with them. Help??
You could elevate them with a linen blazer and loafers or dress them down with sandals and a Tee. Adding a belt for a half tuck and earrings or other jewelry to polish the look. It depends on where your day will take you and how elevated you like to look.
Thanks! Good ideas.
I have bought several Quince cashmere sweaters and they are really good quality for the price. I think it would be so great if they got petites 🌸
I have my fingers crossed for petites too!
I discovered Quince last spring, and I love it. It wears and washes well. The classic styles have “upped” my wardrobe.
Good Morning Jennifer, your story about the plane ride with coughing people simply irked me. I’m sorry you got sick and surprised you did even with masking up. Darnit. Quince: There’s that cardigan sweater I’ve been threatening to order since the first time I saw you wear it on your site. And now the hoodie looks completely irresistible. Can you please tell me what size you’re wearing. I have the silk skirt in wine color and I think it’s totally amazing. Want to order the chocolate. Another question, do you think their stretch jeans hold their shape? Thanks
I bought the cashmere hoodie in medium so it was a bit looser. Unlike 100% cotton jeans, these jeans loosen up so after a full day of sitting the knees do expand.
I’m a huge fan of Quince cashmere and have 6 crews and 1 V-neck. The V is a bit too deep for me (5’2”) and I have to turtleneck back the cuffs, but quality and colors are great. Their yak (!) sweaters are also wonderful, soft and sturdy . hoping for a petite option as I’ve had to return a couple of blazers for length.
Good morning Jennifer. I tried Quince after reading one of your past blogs. I got the silk skirt and a fisherman sweater. Nice pieces and I was impressed with the quality. I tried their linen crop pants this past spring but found them too small, especially in the rise. What size did you get in the pants? Also love the hoodie. Please share that size as well. You look so cute in the Chico’s dress. And love those Mephisto sandals. Would you also share your size in the sandals.
My sandals are a 10. They run small so you need to order a larger size
Quince is my #1 go to when Eileen Fisher is out of $$ range.
I try to shop sales and even “pre loved” on EBay. I love their neutrals but have to stick to Navy or Black since I’m a white haired winter.
I especially love the fact that shipping and returns are free- absolutely zero hassle.
Yes! You’re fortunate to be a winter because those colors are always plentiful.
Been a quince fan since its inception. Started with their cashmere-which has held up as well as other sweaters I have gotten through nordstrom. Also bought a couple leather belt bags-great quality, great price. This summer bought a couple cotton t shirts which I love. Made well and not at all see-through. Also bought the linen pants you featured ‘in black. Can’t say enough good about this brand. Find myself going to the quince site more and more for quality basics. Agree sizing is very true to size and consistently so.
Agree on all points! I’m hoping they keep adding new colors.
Yes to Quince! I have ordered their ponte pants in a variety of colors and leg types. They are the most comfortable pants in my closet! In addition, I have ordered purses. These purses were lovely and reasonably priced. I am definitely a fan of Quince.
I need to try the pointe again. I ordered one pair last year but goofed on the size and they were way too snug. The return process was a snap! I’ll try again
I have a couple of Quince cotton sweaters, and like both of them. I’ve also tried their bamboo and linen bedding and it’s great!
Bedding is next on my list to dry. And the silk drapes look fabulous!
I keep looking at Quince, but have not purchased anything, yet. The fisherman knit cardigan is tempting for fall and winter. Have a blessed week!
Jennifer – I highly recommend Quince. Their Customer Support and return policy is excellent. As an example, I needed to exchange a coat for a different size. While chatting with them, they e-mailed a return label and advised that as soon as notification of the delivery was received at UPS, the replacement would be shipped. I believe I have every color cashmere sweater offered! Also, when purchasing leather bags, I go to Quince rather than carrying a very expensive formerly “name” brand leather bag I thought I had to have. Also, when receiving items purchased, they arrive nicely packaged and really make you feel like care was placed in providing the item.
I agree!
I have ordered linen slacks from Quince and been very pleased. The quality is great and the fit is true to size.
Long time Quince fan here! Favorites are the linen, cashmere hoodie, leather bags (such as steal, I especially love the Clare V moyen messenger dupe), the luggage, the flow knit (like Vioiri) and the down puffers (like Arizia). I didn’t care for the quality of the gauze. I have black linen pants that are three years old and I just ordered the black linen shirt -perfect match! Next purchase will be a leather jacket. And maybe knives, lol. Lots of non clothes items to explore.
I just ordered the cutlery for our apartment. I’m excited because it looks like great quality!
