Would You Wear It -2022 Edition

Happy, Happy New Year, ladies! I’m starting off 2022 full of optimism and fresh ideas. My husband is starting it with a nasty head cold which I am valiantly trying to avoid. We’re running our air purifier nonstop and I am downing 1/2 teaspoon of this Wellness Herbal Resistance Liquid every few hours. The taste is truly gag-worthy, but I swear by it:)

It’s time for would you wear it so grab a cup of your favorite coffee or tea and let’s have some fun with fashion. Each Saturday my friend Pam and I share a mannequin we’ve photographed and ask if you would wear what it’s modeling.

  1. The outfit is dreamy, a bit over the top for my lifestyle though. I love Wellness products! I use the pills (horse pills, hubby calls them)- they have a nasty aftertaste as well. I fill my adult childrenā€™s Christmas stocking with a bottle each year. My children laugh at me, but Wellness products have worked time and time again for me!

No, I don’t like the fur cuffs on the sweater. I do love those joggers, and I have a pair of those fancy slippers!! Happy New Year! Hope your husband is feeling better!

  3. The exercise pants maybe but the rest no. That sweater takes away from your beautiful face.

  4. Probably not for me, the fur cuff is too wide, and the fabric is too casual. Also washing faux fur usually matteā€™s the fur.

Happy New Year! I like this outfit. I would wear different pants, for more of a contrast. I would accessorize with silver jewelry. I really appreciate all your recommendations and ideas!

  6. So sorry to hear you hubby is under the weather. Hopefully, he hasn’t shared it with you. I LOVE the sweater (which looks like a beautiful navy on my monitor but it only comes in black and dark brown). Would wear in a heartbeat but velvet or corduroy jeans (the blue jeans are all wrong) with either the necklace shown or some other long gold necklace. Scar would be too busy with the fur sleeves. Speaking of the 3/4 sleeves, WHY do designers think 3/4 sleeves are so wonderful? They hit me right in the crook of my arm! But, I’d wear this sweater anyway – cocktails, fondue party, candlelight dinner (at home) with the hubs.

    1. How fun, Happy New Year

  7. I always rather liked Mrs. Howell’s style on Gilligan’s Island. I realize it was supposed to be camp and I was 10 at the time, but hey! feathers and fur looked fun! I could not do this top in black or brown, but if it were in soft gray or blue, I would be tempted. It would work for Southern California if I had somewhere to go in it. I would also do silver jewelry. Sorry your husband is sick. As a friend of mine said, “yes, it’s a relief it’s not Covid, but it’s still a pain to have a cold or sore throat. Hope he is better soon. Happy and healthy 2022 to all!

    1. I think campiness has a place in my wardrobe because I love Mrs Howells style:) I need more fun in my life so why not.
      Happy New Year, Mary!

  8. I love this outfit for a festive but casual occasion! I’d wear the necklaces all the time. Wish the fur cuffs were removable and I’d wear the sweater all the time too! Very flattering.

I would wear that sweater with dressy jeans. It doesnā€™t ā€œpopā€ in that monochromatic look. I love the necklace and have considered purchasing.

Happy New Year ! Jennifer, and thanks for the many informative posts , and your sense of humour throughout. You cover an lot of what counts to us beautifully aging women.
I saw your Herbal Resistance Liquid and found a similar product at Comox Airport on Vancouver Island a few years ago, and have since purchased more on-lineā€¦
Cold Blasterā€¦mouth and throat sprayā€¦ another natural product. I spray under the tongue( sub-lingual) for maximum absorption, and the taste is not bad.
Gives me some assurance against colds around me.
Hope your guy feels better soon.
Since arriving home to the island from a ā€˜seniors ā€˜ Christmas in Edmonton, we are enjoying walking in the snowy neighbourhood , clearing the driveway & paths, and making sure that we did not pick up any unwanted bugs during our trip. Cheers!

    1. I used to love stopping at Goose Spit on the way up to Comox. Such great memories, thanks for reminding me. Stay well and Happy New Year.

I would wear it in a heartbeat!!!!! I’m OLD, and having FUN WITH FASHION!!! Here in Texas we don’t get to wear fur much, so even a little is fun!!!!! Jeans ARE the new dress pants, so the combination is up to date. Take a chance , ladies, and have FUN!!!!!!!

    1. I would wear it in a heartbeat too! My taste is changing this year and I need more fun with my clothes. Life is too short to always play it safe with fashion.

  12. Both items are individually attractive. I think they look goofy together with boot cut jeans and the flared out sleeves.

  13. Cheryl Spratt says:

Yes I would wear it. Love the color and the fit

Happy 2022 to you, Jennifer! Hope your husband is back to good health soon.

I love the sweater in the brown color which is available on the Chico’s website. It’s gorgeous.
I imagine I would wear it many times throughout the fall and winter.

    1. Happy New Year, Beth!

  15. I love the outfit and would definitely wear it. Fun outfit! I have never liked fair isle sweaters. The neckline is unflattering on women over 50.

Get your husband (& probably you) tested for Covid19. The symptoms of the Omicron variant can be similar to a cold . There is a monoclonal antibody treatment that can be helpful especially in early days after infection, but the new covid antiviral pills are in short supply. As older people, you two would be more at risk and more likely to be eligible for treatment. If vaccinated, you are less likely to need hospitalization from a breakthrough covid case. My niece & her husband have the Omicron variant right now (breakthrough cases) and both said it’s like a bad cold. It screwed up their Xmas holiday ski trip, but at least they’re not seriously ill.

I wouldn’t wear the outfit because it wouldn’t look good colorwise or shapewise on me.

    1. I’m going to try and find some tests. They are sold out everywhere near us.

  17. Happy New Year JenniferšŸŽ‰šŸŽ‰šŸŽŠšŸŽŠ sorry your hubby is under the weather. Hopefully it will run its course quickly and he will be feeling better real soon. Not crazy about the outfit in todayā€™s blog..looks old fashioned, maybe itā€™s just me..anyway have a great day šŸ„°

    1. Thanks, Dianne. Happy New Year

    Happy New Year Jennifer!
The mannequin black outfit is ā€œniceā€ but for me, not practical. The first thing my eyes went to was the tummy area when it lays a bit bulky. (I donā€™t need help in that area). The pants donā€™t seem dressy enough to go with the top. I can see those sleeves dragging through my plate of food. I agree with another lady that with Covid we are not going to parties and such so I wouldnā€™t buy it. I love the other sweater you tried on but we are having unseasonably warm weather here in Texas so it would hang with my other sweaters, unable to wear it.
Blessings to you and your family! I love your blogs, thank you for all you do!

    1. Thank you, Vickie. Happiest New Year wishes to you as well.
