Weekend Reading 05.02.26
Happy Saturday, ladies. This week has been one for the books, and I am really looking forward to some downtime. I’ll share more on Monday if I can put what happened into coherent words.

I’ve been going through my guest room closet looking for my white jeans. Strangely, they all seem to have been donated or left up in our condo. It’s getting pretty warm here, so I have my eye out for one really flattering pair….which is proving to be a challenge because Ecru and off-white seem to be dominating this year.
I bought the above wide-leg pair a few months ago, and I’m loving how comfy they are. They also have a unique feature… there are snaps at the hem that you can use to shorten the jeans by 2″, which seems pretty brilliant to me.
Bestsellers this week, what readers loved most:
- This Drawstring Waist Linen Blends Shirtdress was the most popular item this week. It provides some upper arm coverage and looks very flattering.
- These Thigh Society slip shorts were a huge bestseller this week, and I probably contributed, but I also ordered a few more pairs.
- This Land’s End swimsuit was another bestseller for several weeks in a row. I have it in the Teal Ombre.
- This beautiful Snow Leopard Rug was also very popular this week.
- This Woven Crossbody was also a bestseller. I know these shapes hold a lot, while being compact…and the price is great because it’s at the Rack.
- This 100% Linen Scarf/Wrap was a sleeper to me, but so many of you found and ordered it that, of course, I ordered two to take on my trip. It’ll be cooler than silk and provide modest coverage when I go into temples, etc.
Picks from the weekend sales:
CHICO’S has fresh sale picks starting at $29, plus buy-one-get-one 50% off on jewelry.
- I have this Pima tee in two colors, and it’s terrific with great elbow-length sleeves.
- These blue twist earrings are a fresh look for summer.
ANN TAYLOR has 40% off plus $50 off your $200 purchase.
J.CREW has 30% off wear now styles.
LANDS’ END up to 60% off sitewide.
In case you missed it:
- Monday Musings on barrels, roses, and books.
- Best Tankinis for women over 50
- The well loved edit – what I’ve been loving this month
- Best short-sleeved dresses for spring and summer
Thanks for being here, and have a great weekend!

You had me at Snaps at the hem!!!
Love the twinset you are wearing in the photo, Jennifer! Lovely soft colour and looks great on you.
Thanks. I’ve had it a while and really like it too.
That pale blue cardigan set and ecru pants is a beautiful combination on you.
That ecru color in the pants really sets of the lovely color of your hair. Nicely done.
Thank you!
Just another shout out to Land’s End for awesome swimwear! So many size options including, great fabrics that don’t fade, shrink or stretch out. Flattering styles in solids or cute prints. Affordable price point everyday but always wait for a sale. I can’t count how many swimsuits I have purchased over the years for my entire family. Hubby has several tall swim shirts/rash guards that have seen many trips to Lake Powell. Ladies Grecian one piece that you highlighted, is a fav… currently own it in 4 colors. A great benefit of having several of same is consistent tan lines.
Jennifer,
Did you size down on the MM LaFleur pants ?
No, I boought my regular size
That is such a nice outfit on you. I think I prefer ecru to white, as it’s softer.
OMG…..I’m in love with whoever came up with the idea to shorten petite pants and do it so well. I love yours! I have ecru from Democracy in a ankle flare that has brownish gold stitching on the side and down the center stitch line & waist and hem. I find them hard to pick out a top to wear except in brown family. Do you have any ideas on what other colors to wear with something like that? Since ankle flare I find fitted tops work best. Thanks for posting these incredible pants….off to check them out!
That’s an interesting problem. I’d pair them with the same things you’d wear brown pants with. If you like warm tones try peach or tan. If you like cool tones try aqua or lavender.
I just bought two pairs of ecru jeans. I’m happy ecru is trending. I always found white too difficult to keep pristine. It seems you prefer white. Can I ask why?
I prefer white because most ecrus have too much yellow in them and I prefer cool based colors.I can also bleach them if I spill.
