Some Casual Knit Pants to Dress Up Or Down

Happy Friday, ladies. Since I’ve had my radar tuned to find non-jean options this summer, I’m also spotting them for fall. I saw lots of options at the Nordstrom Anniversary sale and since it’s now open for everyone to shop, I thought I’d share what I found. Here are a few casual knit pants at the Nsale and other finds that are worth a look.

These knit pants match this long ponte jacket I shared with you last week. Together, they’re a great, machine washable, suiting option, plus the pieces are versatile enough to wear casually. The fabric has tons of stretch and a polished look that gives you lots of options. They’d also look great tucked into a pair of nice riding boots with a yummy chunky sweater, (which I just ordered) for a casual look. They come in sizes 0-16 and run large so you can size down. I am wearing a 4.

This cardigan was a no-brainer for me that I snapped up in several colors because I wore the living daylights out of the one I bought last summer. It’s an eco-friendly blend that’s kissed with cashmere and feels incredibly soft. It’s perfect over so many things for lightweight arm coverage. The tank is a classic v-neck shape that comes in 5 colors, 00-16W. I am wearing a small so it runs TTS. I love this soft ivory cloud color which is opaque and neutral, rather than warm-toned.

My shoes are an amazing find at the Nsale. These Eileen Fisher pumps are super comfortable, with a chunky stable heel and knit, stretchy criss-cross straps that keep them securely on your foot. They come in 4 colors, but I couldn’t resist this Mica shade which has a subtle metallic you could even wear to a wedding.

The next knit pants I fell for are these Liverpool Knit Trousers, plus size here. They come in 7 colors in sizes petite and regular, sizes 0-16. The rise is high, but I find 10″ a tad low on my long torso, so I opted for the 4 regular and turned the hem under once. The petite has a 27″ inseam and the regular is a 30″ inseam. These are great, machine wash, tumble dry pants that could be a workhorse in a fall wardrobe.  I’m wearing the maple color which just happens to coordinate beautifully with this cashmere pullover.

Nordstrom Signature cashmere is truly a cut above and often, you get what you pay for. Luckily this V-neck pullover is discounted for the Nsale. It’s an oversized fit so you could size down for a closer fit. I’m wearing a small, which has plenty of room.

 The vionic loafers are pretty much perfect. They come in 3 colors, sizes 5-11 with a cushioned insole that you can remove to replace with an orthotic. I like that this loafer is sleek and will fit under the leg of trousers without buckles or a tongue that will catch on the pant.

BAREFOOT DREAMS ON NSALE

I would be remiss to not mention the Barefoot Dreams collection, much of it is part of the Nsale. I add at least one piece to my wardrobe every year at the Nsale. Last year it was this circle cardigan. This year I ordered these crop pajamas. I don’t plan to sleep in them but will wear them hanging out around the house. I know how cozy they’ll feel and they’re something I’d feel comfortable wearing to slip out to the mailbox or sign for a package at the door.

Here’s that cropped cardigan again, this time in the ivory cloud color which I’m a bit obsessed with because it’s soft and neutral with no yellow undertones. My V-neck tank is not part of the Nsale, but at $49, it’s a great layering piece I thought was a fun way to tie the jeans with the ivory cardi. It comes in 15 colors, my print is called Robbie Floral.

I have these Ilse Jacobson Tulip 139 perforated slip-on in 4 colors but wanted white so I was thrilled to find these as part of the Nsale. They have more of a loafer shape than my other slip-on, with elastic gores and tongue. This version comes in 5 other colors sizes 6-14. Some reviews say they run large, but I bought my regular size 40.

These high-rise, straight-leg jeans are pretty amazing. The brand gifted them for me to try, and I love them. They’re 100% cotton which I haven’t tried in several years. The feel is quite different and they’re sturdier than jeans with spandex which is nice for a change of pace.

Nordstrom is my favorite department store for so many reasons, not the least of which is their incredible customer service with their free shipping and returns. Joining the Nordy club here is free and allows you to earn points towards notes you can use to shop plus you get free basic alterations. They also offer BOPUS, ROTUS (reserve online, try on in-store), and curbside pickup.

The Nsale is on until July 31, and prices go up to full price on August 1 so now’s a good time to assess what your fall wardrobe needs and get it at a pre-season discount. This sale is great for basics but it’s also when I look to buy investment pieces I know I’ll wear for many years to come.
