Color Crush on Pumpkin with Budget Friendly Items

Happy Tuesday ladies. I want to thank you all for your help and suggestions yesterday. Many shared their journey with arthritis and things they’re finding helpful. Several of us (me included) have been inspired to delve deeper into an anti-inflammatory diet to help with discomfort. This is is why I love this community…you.Ā Today’s ootd has my color crush on pumpkin with some comfy Chelsea boots, bootcut jeans, a loose white shirt, and an oversized fuzzy cardigan. A great look for a weekend in the country or just about anywhere else.

As always, you can click the red text for more info and to shop the item.

Free People is a new brand for me. Most of their clothes have a very bohemian vibe which is not really me, but an oversized cardigan is pretty classic. If this pumpkin color isn’t your shade, it also comes in a soft cream and bright aqua. It runs very large, which I’ve been told many of their things do so I sized down to a small and could have even worn the XS.

My white shirt is from Target, so it’s hard to beat the price. I have several white shirts from Target and am always pleased with their quality for the money. This one is a slightly oversized tunic length so I tied it at my waist to rein in some of the bulk. The large tunic shirt combined with the oversized sweater is a recipe for sloppy on me so this gives a bit of shape without needing a belt, etc.

These boots are selling out fast in this shade which doesn’t surprise me in the least. They’re a classic Chelsea shape with a memory foam insole and easy peasy on the feet. A few of the other colors also come in wide widths.

Bootcut and straight jeans are my favorite shapes this fall. This pair is under $30 and fits terrifically. I love dark wash denim, but that ups the level of formality and I was going for a relaxed, super casual feel here. These do come in 2 other darker washes sizes 0-22 and have a nice high rise.

Learning new things and staying on top of technical changes keep me hopping! I realize the link I shared to my neutral outfit video didn’t work yesterday… so let’s try again here.

Thanks for reading ladies and remember to wear what makes you feel confident.

Love the pumpkin colour! Perfect for this time of year.

  2. Jennifer, Thank you for sharing the sweater from Macyā€™s, a store with great prices and where I have shopped for years. Itā€™s not far from my home so easy shopping in person. When buying online itā€™s easy to return at the store.

  3. I love the color of your cardigan. That says fall to me. I also have a white shirt from Target, I always thought it was to long but I’m going to tie it and see how that looks. Thanks Jennifer!

  4. What color goes better with blue jeans and Fall than orange. I have a lighter shade of orange they call tangerine but I never thought of wearing it on Halloween. I think Iā€™ll wear a white cap, my orange top (mine zips) and yellow pants and go as candy corn. What you think? LOL

    1. Sounds perfect:) Happy Tuesday,Eve

  5. You look so happy, and you are very photogenic. That pumpkin sweater normally wouldn’t appeal to me, but the casual vibe with white shirt and jeans just threw me over to the other side!

    1. Thanks Julie, My husband always makes me laugh.

  6. Good morning Jennifer šŸŒž from Florida. Love your outfit today, the sweater is beautiful and looks so good on you. Autumn šŸ‚ is my favorite season but living in Florida we donā€™t have many opportunities to wear the sweaters and the heavier clothes here. But I still enjoy decorating for the seasons. Loved the video you posted from yesterday ā˜ŗļøā˜ŗļø

    1. Happy Tuesday, Dianne

  7. Great look and some sensible prices too. Going to try those jeans. I am so over the ankle-baring pants! Those little liner socks get lost in the wash and usually show anyway. I love comfy, warm socks.

Hi Jennifer. What size jeans did you order? We’re pretty much the same height and weight so I’m curious, after reading some of the reviews about fit. I recently ordered two Free Assembly sailor shirts (Bretons) and was very impressed with the quality and price.

    1. These are an 8. I am very impressed with Free Assembly quality:)

Liked the look and the prices!! Very cool šŸ˜Ž video, my dear. Thanks for your work for us.

Loved the videoā€¦youā€™re a funny girl!
The end result of blazer with jeans is so me.
I have a blazer from 2005 I rediscovered when recently editing my closet .Has soft tans , greys, and greens and plan to wear it with jeans & my tan boots when thereā€™s no chance of rain.
You just made me remember my late 80ā€™s look ā€¦blue jeans, loafers with white socks which matched my belt, and a soft coral blazer. Newly divorced , 38 and very hip šŸ‘©šŸ»ā€šŸ¦°ā€¦ about 20 lbs ago too! Sighā€¦
Just left ā€˜White Stuffā€™ , a cool clothing shop in Lymington, an historic coastal town in Hampshire šŸ‡¬šŸ‡§with some unique clothes for fall/winter back in BCšŸ‡ØšŸ‡¦ Always fun to find totally different pieces when traveling that work. Lime, navy& purple combos, and sky blue with rust. Soft cotton dresses which need a pair of navy tights and boots once home.
    Happy Fall šŸ‚šŸšŸ„

    1. Your 80s outfit sounds perfect. It could easily be hip today:) I do love shopping while traveling and finding unique pieces.

      1. I totally agree to that! just got back from Paris and purchased a few cute items.

Beautiful cardigan love it ! Love the whole look. Happy Tuesday šŸ™‚

  12. I love the color of this sweater & the casual vibe of the outfit! I donā€™t often get to wear sweaters in our warm climate but I keep buying them because I love them so much. I also like the looser fit of pants these days with boots. Some of my favorite boots came from Costco a few years ago & they were very comfortable to wear even when doing a lot of walking.

    1. My husband usually does our Costco runs….maybe I need to go again myself. I used to get some fabulous cashmere from them.

  13. RE: Plaid pants post from the other day
I noticed yesterday that Susan Graver has printed ponte pants in plaid on QVC. Isaac Mizrahi also has plaid pants on QVC in 24/7 stretch. I haven’t worn his pants in a while but I found the 24/7 stretch to be very comfortable and it holds up well in the wash. Both designers do multiple inseams. (I haven’t tried Susan Graver yet but she is starting to expand her fabric selection so I may try her at some point.)

    1. Thanks, Maggie. I will head over and check them out. Fabric is so important

  14. Love todayā€™s look! The sweater is fantastic! Really enjoyed your fun video too!

  15. Love the video from yesterday! The outfit was very flattering for you as well as a great hairdo. Todayā€™s is so comfortable-looking and looks perfect for you.

  16. This color photographs beautifully against the greenery, nice pic. I find this brand runs large, and is boho styling, which doesnā€™t work for my petite frame, but itā€™s a beautiful color..

    1. It does run very large

  17. Linda Gaertner says:

The bootcut jeans look great on you! Perfect

  18. Cute outfit! That video is too funny!! I must have mussed it yesterday but thanks for adding it today!

  19. We never get cool enough for heavy sweaters I only get to wear them when we go to Philadelphia. I do have a rust tunic with scarf from Jill that I love but pumpkin is to bright for me but looks great on you. Arthritis loves water exercise too.

    1. Good to know about the water..I wish I liked being in the water:)

  20. Suzanne W Duchesne says:

Love this whole outfit. I tend to shy away from oranges but this is so cute and the white really seems like it would frame my face and neck to compliment my skin tone. I have to get to work but it is so fun to spend the initial part of my day being inspired by your style and the lovely places you visit.

    1. Have a great day, Suzanne! Thanks for being here
