My life in suburbia doesn’t include passing a lot of construction zones. Even if it did, the classic cat calls and “hey baby” comments have long since faded from my 61-year-old experience and I like that just fine. They seldom felt flattering and usually seemed creepy.
I did get a compliment from a construction worker yesterday which was a total surprise. We were passing on my sidewalk and he said, “nice outfit with that thingy on your shirt”. I chuckled and said thanks. It’s always nice to get a compliment. My how times have changed:)
Later that day we had dinner at a friends house and I got to break out my new Cashmere Poncho. I’m a new convert to ponchos and so glad I discovered them. They keep you warm and your hands free, but they’re not as hot as a sweater.
I bought this poncho at the Nordstrom Anniversary sale this summer. It’s a great quality and you can’t beat the price at 50% off!
I transferred my “thingee” from my blouse to my poncho for the evening. The pin makes enough of a statement for me so I skipped a necklace. I’m test driving red lipsticks on me but the verdict is not in…
Open toed booties were my other nod to cooler temperatures. No socks required makes these perfect for our in-between season temps.
I’m really looking forward to the cool weather, and even the rain. It’s so much more fun to get dressed for cooler weather.
Have you discovered ponchos?
Have a great day and thanks for reading!
