Challenging My Style
Happy Tuesday ladies. Do you like to like to challenge your style choices? I never want to feel stuck in a style rut so I’m forcing myself to experiment with more new things than ever before. Getting dressed is meant to be fun so if I don’t experiment now, when will I?
You’ve heard me say that wearing patterns and texture near our face reduces the appearance lines on our face, and it does. Conversely, shiny smooth fabrics enhance our lines which is not what I want to do these days:) Today I’ve challenged myself to experiment with texture.

Today I’m styling a classic eyelet shirt four ways and collaborating with my friend Cindy. She’s an amazing interior designer, super stylish, and a ton of fun. If you don’t know her, I’m very happy to introduce you because I think you’ll love her.
I’m fairly certain that I haven’t worn eyelet anything since I wore ankle socks with a pinafore dress and pigtails. Yup, it’s been that long and since eyelet is everywhere this year I decided to give it a shot. I don’t gravitate to the feminine vibe of eyelet but that’s what challenges are all about.
The first way I styled it is with my wide-legged jeans, a leopard belt, and Clark wedges. I added a French Kande necklace and bracelet to punch things up. These cork soled wedges are super comfy and add a tiny bit of height without hurting my feet. I love the leopard with the eyelet which seems like polar opposites to me.
Next, I styled it with a denim jacket, white jeans, comfy ballet flats, and my daisy earrings. My ballet flats are a blush color and are as comfy as slippers. They’re currently only available in leopard (which I love) but these ones look almost identical. The eyelet on the shirt is in a daisy shape so I liked the connection to my earrings. The earrings were a style stretch several months ago and I love them. They come in tons of cheery colors, are lightweight, and fun.
Then I stepped the look down for a super casual day of running errands. The sneakers are easy to slip on and the pants are a pull-on jegging. Easy, peasy, comfy, and quick.
Finally, I styled it over this simple column of black. I love this look for it’s slimming effect. The eyelet shirt just adds some breezy arm coverage and a touch of texture. Another French Kande necklace and bracelet mixed with my mala beads similar here finish the look.
This eyelet shirt comes with a lightweight, airy cami to cover the bare parts so there’s no worry about peek through. 
My verdict is that this is pretty easy to wear and because the shape and color are classic, it can easily fit into many wardrobes creating different looks.

I love eyelet. I wear it now and I dressed my girls in it when they were small. The shirt over the black is so perfect and it’s me! I find something with an eyelet border or yoke or cuff on an otherwise plain fabric can be just enough some days.
