Holiday New Arrivals from Some Favorite Brands

I know it’s only October, but the holiday season is just around the corner. Our favorite clothing brands are all getting ready with their new holiday arrivals. I’ve started trying some on for future dressing room diaries, but for now, let’s do a little scouting to see what Talbots, Loft, and Chico’s have to offer.

Holiday New Arrivals

Chicos

Chicos has an entire red collection out right now, making outfit planning easy and effortless for the holiday season. If you don’t wear red, they also have lots of other festive options in an array of colors.

CHARCOAL JULIET PONTE PANT size 0.5 // CHARCOAL EMBELLISHED JACQUARD CARDIGAN size 1 // HIGH NECK MICROFIBER TANK

This Embellished Jacquard cardigan is charcoal gray with swirls of sequins, beading, and lurex thread embroidery and splashes of ivory and silver. It would be great over a pair of jeans or dressed all the way up for a fancier occasion. I paired it with these Juliet ponte pants in Charcoal gray and an ivory microfiber tank.

Loft

Loft‘s “Party Edit” is filled with a wide selection of day-to-day tops and sweaters to wear around the holiday season, and it’s all currently 40% off! It’s filled with velour, tartan, shimmer, sequins, and velvet, so they’re likely to have some great pieces for most occasions. How fun is this sequin bomber jacket?

Their accessories are especially nice this year and very affordable.

This velvet handle knot bag is super cute.

This collection has both subtle touches and over-the-top glam which I’m anxious to try on. Stay tuned…

Talbots

Talbots always shines during the holiday, and this year’s collection is no different. The colors are both vibrant and subtle in gorgeous fabrics and shapes. I always find their velvet particularly rich-looking. Since I only wear velvet during this time of year, I like to add a touch of it to my outfits when I can.

TAFFETA FIT AND FLARE SKIRT size 8 // CASHMERE SWEATER size S

This taffeta skirt is just so fun! I have a charity event in late November that I’m considering this for. The petite is 3″ shorter, which would be a better option for me, or I might have brought this home. It also comes in a brilliant red with embroidery here. I paired it here with a paisley cashmere sweater that dresses the look down a bit…if that’s even possible with this party skirt!

These satin wide-leg pants give me old Hollywood vibes and would be stylish year after year with different tops.

  1. Great holiday outfits! Love the skirt on you. It seems like we only have casual get-togethers anymore but I do love to wear some sparkle for the holidays.

  2. I feel the skirt works for your body type Jennifer and would be perfect for a black-tie event and IMHO being polyester in content shouldn’t present a wrinkling problem. On that note; for myself I would be tempted to see if perhaps a black fitted – long sleeved lace top (which I forecast will be the next popular trend) with a pair of lace panty hose and a plain dress shoe/bag would work with it and introduce some sparkle vie jewelry. i.e.: Diamonds or resin ‘ n rhinestone in earrings. A statement ring. IF you do purchase it, I hope you will share how you have styled it. As to holiday events; have three for sure on the agenda that include family/friends/acquaintances which I’m basically shopping my closet for and adding just new accessories. -Brenda-

    1. Accessories are the perfect way to update your look! I will certainly share if I buy it.

  3. The embroidered charcoal jacket looks very sophisticated and lovely on you as well as the purple skirt and sweater. They would take you through the holidays in style. I will not be having any events this year, so no fancy clothes needed. It is fun to see all the clothes available.

  4. I had a taffeta dress I felt like a million bucks in. I’m unsure about this one. First, your photo illustrates how this garment wrinkles. The skirt looks fuller on you (which I prefer) than on the model, so unsure how it would hang. I think the belt would add visual weight right at my waist. I have a December wedding I should be shopping for now. I will probably go the consignment store route. I can’t justify the expensive for a single wearing.

  5. The taffeta skirt looks amazing on you! Beautiful color. Even like it with the sweater youā€™ve paired it with. Elegant but fun! Iā€™ll live vicariously through you since weā€™ve nothing planned that I could wear anything so fabulous to this holiday season!

  6. Loved the Talbots purple outfit on you, very becoming!!

    Hi Jennifer,
I love Talbots at Christmas and l would be so tempted by the skirt in either color or the pretty black dress. We are going to see our newly married son and his wife in Anchorage Alaska as they are both in the AF up there, so this year l am treating myself to a beautiful cable sweater and pairing them with my Talbots black velvet pants. And l also found a really cute red plaid skirt on sale from a British firm called Hobbs which will be lovely with black tights. Thatā€™s my Christmas look !Take care šŸ™‚

    1. What a fabulous trip! Have fun. Youā€™ll look great.

  9. The taffeta skirt is fabulous and I love it with that cashmere sweater! You should buy it šŸ™‚

  10. We have a granddaughter getting married in June – we will be on the ā€œparty circuitā€ soon. Her fiancĆ© is a cadet at West Point and they get married the week after his graduation. Parties for them are filling up the holiday season – I am off to Talbots for the black satin pants and one of the taffeta skirts today! Thank you for making it easy for me to decide what to wear to celebrate them!

    1. Congratulations! What fun!

  11. Oh you look sensational in that purple skirt and top! Wow! Ring in the holidays or a gala!
