New Arrivals from Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack: January 2024

Nordstrom has been one of my go-to stores for as long as I can remember. A peruse through their site always leaves me feeling inspired and excited for the upcoming season. However…when it comes to finding designer pieces from brands I love at a discounted price, Nordstrom Rack is one of my secret weapons. Of course, with great savings comes great competition, so I’ve learned to act quickly when I spot something I love because the best things sell out fast.

With that said, let’s take a quick look at some of my finds from both Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack for the month of January.

January Nordstrom Finds

Brights!

Brights are reported to be huge for spring this year, and the Caslon brand has plenty to choose from. These sweaters stopped me in my tracks with their bright, happy colors. I’ve styled them both with these black NYDJ Marilyn jeans because very few other colors could hold up to their intensity. Will you be wearing brights this spring?

Wide Leg Linen Blend Pants

I am always looking for a versatile pant that can be easily dressed up or down, and these from Caslon seem to fit the ticket. They have a comfortable pull-on and elastic waistband, which is always a plus in my book. This linen blend will be fabulous once it heats up and all through the summer.

Straw Tote Bag

It may seem crazy to share a straw tote in the middle of January, but resort season is almost upon us. I know a lot of ladies have tropical trips and cruises on their mid-winter calendars, and this bag has plenty of room for everything you could need for a day in the sun (like a sun hat and lots of SPF!).

Straw Hat

I am always a fan and advocate for sun hats, I came across this one with black geometric details. It also comes in a white and camel color combination, which I liked as well. This would look great with a black swimsuit for a day at the pool or beach or with something like the dress below to protect your face from the sun while you walk and dine outdoors. Tie Front Gauze Shirtdress

I purchased this dress in navy last year and wore the heck out of it during my trip to Mexico. It’s a lightweight gauze, which makes it perfect for warm weather, and the front tie gives the bodice some lovely shaping. It’s available in navy again this year or black and a pretty reddish-brown.

Tommy Bahama Raw Edge Jacket

This raw hem jacket will be a great transitional layer as we begin to leave the coldest part of winter behind and reach for lighter layers. This would also be a great item to pack for an upcoming trip over your vacation dresses, tanks, and tees if the nights are chilly at your destination.

Beek Pelican Slide Sandal

Have you ever tried this brand of footwear? I’m intrigued because these slide sandals look ultra comfortable with their plush memory foam soles. I was also pleased to read that with each pair of shoes purchased, Beek donates one day’s worth of meals to a child in need. Since this only comes in whole sizes, the brand recommends that you size down if you wear a half size.

Yarn-Dyed Stripe Wrap

I love wearing scarves or wraps. They’re perfect for travel and can be worn in multiple ways. They are also an easy way to add a little personality, color, and texture to an outfit. This one is lightweight, gauzy, and neutral enough to go with almost anything.

January Nordstrom Rack Finds

Brooks Running Shoe

I know the beginning of a new year tends to get a lot of women back into the gym or into a workout routine. I usually find a lot of great activewear pieces at Nordstrom Rack, as well as a lot of sneakers from well-known brands. If you find yourself without a good gym shoe or if you’re just looking for a comfortable shoe to wear while running errands, I hear great things about Brooks.

Owala Water Bottle

This water bottle is the IT cup to have right now. While Stanley cups are still popular, the Owala is a better option for those on the go and those who like a locking lid. It’s easy just to drop it into your tote bag so you can stay hydrated wherever your day takes you.

Longchamp Tote

I love these tote bags from Longchamp. They’re sort of like Lays Potato Chips…it’s hard to just have one…especially on sale. I have them in several colors and various sizes. It’s the perfect size for a travel or work bag, and it’s water resistant, so you could also take it to the pool or the beach. I also saw this crossbody bag from Longchamp if you prefer that style over a tote.

Cole Haan Sneaker

My feet are so happy that casual tennis shoes are still on-trend. I have and love these Grand Crosscourt Travelers from Cole Haan. They’re incredibly lightweight and easy to wear. I wear mine with pants, but you can also pair them with a casual dress, chinos, or shorts for an effortless casual look.

Democracy Raw Hem Crop Wide Leg Pants in Petite

I know the wide-leg cropped look is another trend that many women are leery of, but it seems to be sticking around at least throughout 2024. Nordstrom Rack is a great place to look for denim, and I thought these crops from Democracy were a great price. Here they are in regular sizing here.

Birkenstock Arizona Waterproof Slide Sandal

I wore these waterproof slide Birkenstocks almost every day in Mexico, whether they coordinated with what I was wearing or not. Then I started wearing them around the house in lieu of slippers because they give my arches a lot of support. Before I knew it, I was the proud owner of three different colors of waterproof Birkenstocks. Needless to say, I think these are a great buy at under $50.

Vince V-Neck Pullover

I love Vince sweaters, but they’re very expensive, so I’m always thrilled to find them at the Rack. This wool and cashmere blend is chic and cozy in this beautiful sage color, as well as black or white. I also spotted this pink crewneck one.
