Self Care Gifts for Her She’ll Love

As the holidays approach, many of us find ourselves caught up in the whirlwind of festivities, gatherings, and the relentless demands that come with it. Amidst the joy and cheer, it’s all too easy to feel the weight of exhaustion and burnout settling in. Can I just put my hand up right now? The pressure to make the season perfect for everyone else can become overwhelming. Our need to recharge becomes increasingly essential during this time, yet it often gets overlooked in the chaos of the season.

BAREFOOT DREAMS ROBE / KNIT PAJAMAS

Ugg Robe

How many of us are wearing ratty robes around the house? It can be easy to justify not needing a new one since no one sees us in it. But, Iā€™m telling you, a new robe can make all the difference in how you feel. Iā€™m a big fan of UGG robes. I have this one in navy which looks similar to the Barefoot Dreams robes, but I think they wash better. I like it when the sleeves hit above my wrists so that Iā€™m not getting them wet when I wash my hands.

Slippers with Support

My slippers take quite a beating because we donā€™t wear shoes in the house. I’ve actually taken to wearing a pair of Birkenstock sandals with socks because of how comfy they are. Vionic makes quite a few different pairs of slippers and house shoes, depending on the look and needs you prefer. I ordered this pair to try after so many of you recommended them.

Perfect Nightā€™s Sleep Magnesium Body Butter

applying neom magnesium butter

Iā€™ve struggled with restless legs for many years, and if youā€™ve ever dealt with them, you know how annoying it is. I discovered this magnesium cream helps a lot, so in addition to taking a magnesium supplement at night, I find a topical is very helpful.

I also just found this lavender-scented one that sounds amazing, too. I climb into bed and rub a healthy-sized squeeze of this body butter on both legs from my knees to the tips of my toes. It smells heavenly, and my legs never seem to get that jumpy feeling. This Bedtime Ritual Set at Nordstrom is under $50 and would make a great gift.

Manuka Honey Lotion

I shared in this post that I moisturize every day and night, and this affordable lotion will wow anyone. The best part? It has 62k+ rave reviews, so you know itā€™s good!

Pillows

One of the best gifts you can give yourself is a good nightā€™s sleep. When was the last time you upgraded your pillows? Mine are beginning to feel sort of “tired,” so I decided to order these ones to try.

Boll & Branch Bedding

Have you ever considered upgrading your mattress or your bedding? Both of these things can make a major difference in your day-to-day life. Splurging on luxe bedding will make you feel like youā€™re on vacation in your own home. Boll & Branch gets the best reviews and is currently 20% off. I like that the brand is the first 100% organic Fair Trade Certified bedding company, meaning no chemicals, pesticides, or GMOs are ever used on the cotton. I also just ordered this European linen set from Quince after reading the rave reviews.

Hatch Restore

Going along with the gift of sleep, keeping off of your phone, and using this all-in-one machine for your alarm, white noise, etc., can help. I often play white noise on my cell phone to fall asleep, but that sort of defeats the purpose of getting off your device. This is going on my Santa list.

Humidifier

I love this humidifier! It has smart sensors that keep it running until the unit is completely dry inside. That means thereā€™s no water left behind for mold to grow in. I also love that the parts are all dishwasher-safe. This humidifier works differently than others. After you fill the tank, the water flows into the tray, where it is treated by passing through UV light. The water then goes through a paper (replaceable) filter. Then itā€™s evaporated by the fan, so clean, hydrated air is dispensed invisibly. It sits on my bedside table and runs all the time.

Dior Cuticle Cream

This nail cream is a little self care gift that you can throw in your purse and carry around with you all the time. At only $30, itā€™s one of those things that is so small but can make a big impact and remind you to pause while youā€™re putting it on.

Bath Soaks

One of the best ways to make sure to incorporate self care into your holiday routine is with a relaxing bath for your muscles. Whether itā€™s once a week or only on special occasions, a bath soak can be the gift that keeps on giving. Here are a few of the most popular ones that Iā€™ve heard really good things about: Herbivore Coconut Milk Bath SoakAlo Mindful Magnesium Stress-Melting + Muscle-Soothing Bath Soak, and Elemis Aching Muscle Super Soak.

Gratitude Journal

A gratitude journal is a simple yet powerful tool that can have a significant impact on your mental and emotional well-being. By regularly reflecting on the things you’re grateful for, you can cultivate a more positive outlook and reduce stress and anxiety. For me, I find that writing down my thoughts and feelings can prove to be a therapeutic and cathartic experience, allowing me to both process my emotions and gain perspective.

Portable Well-Being Pod

I love my little portable essential oil diffuser. It uses cold fusion technology to convert essential oils into a microfine vapor without using heat or water. It’s battery-operated, so it can be used anywhere without plugging it into the wall. This comes with a USB cable for charging and lasts for 50 hours on a single full charge.

Essential Oils

Essential oils can be used to promote relaxation, reduce stress, and improve mood. They can be used in a variety of ways, such as through aromatherapy, massage, or even added to your bath. Some essential oils also have anti-inflammatory or antimicrobial properties, making them useful for things like boosting immunity. This boxed set comes with 10 oils for every mood.

Osea Bestsellers Body Care Set

The products in this set from OSEA work together to exfoliate, hydrate, and firm your skin, providing a luxurious spa-like experience in the comfort of your own home. Plus, OSEA is a cruelty-free and vegan brand, so you can feel good about supporting ethical and sustainable practices while treating yourself (or your loved one) to some much-needed TLC.

HigherDOSE Infrared PEMF Go Mat

This Go mat from HigherDOSE uses a combination of infrared heat and pulsed electromagnetic field (PEMF) therapy to provide a variety of health benefits. The infrared heat helps to increase circulation, promote relaxation, and reduce inflammation, while the PEMF therapy can help to improve cellular function and promote healing. Additionally, using the mat can help boost your metabolism, improve your sleep quality, and even reduce stress and anxiety. I really like that it’s portable so that you can use it in different parts of your daily routine, like sitting on the couch, laying in bed, or lounging in a reading chair.

Self Care Experiences Worth Gifting

While I can’t link any of this, some of the best gifts to give loved ones is the gift of self care, whether thatā€™s together or on their own. From taking them to get their nails done or giving them a gift certificate to get a massage or facial, the most appreciated gifts Iā€™ve found revolve around the theme of self care.

And please donā€™t forget that you deserve the gift of self care as well. Give yourself quiet time when you can turn off your phone, put on some nice music, read a book, or whatever helps you relax.

What are your favorite self care rituals?

  1. I have been looking for a new robe for a few months, to no avail. Choices in my size are limited. The lingerie store where I shop for sleepwear stopped carrying my size for this Christmas shopping season. I’ve run out of places to look, so it won’t be in the cards this year. Some robes have about an inch of overlap, which means sizing up. Sizing up means nothing is available. Shrink-sizing doesn’t work in clothing. Zippered robes are too straight and don’t fit my hips. Men’s robes don’t fit my hips and the sleeves are too long. One online order from a major retailer showed up today with one pocket sewn 3″ lower than the other, and the belt loops at hip level. This means that the belt overlaps the lopsided patch pockets, rendering them useless. I used to be able to walk into a store in the fall and buy a robe, just like that. What is happening? I’ll do without, rather than wear a Franken-robe.

    1. That’s awful!! I am appalled at the quality some retailers sell.

    1. Iā€™m glad it helped, Elaine

  2. I am one who has two pairs of Vionic slippers and two pairs of the Spenco slippers (they have changed their name to Revitalign). They are both great and I wear when in the house through the year.

  3. The self care suggestions are lovely. By chance do you know of a magnesium cream that is unscented?

  4. Becky Sanborn says:

I ordered the pillow spray and the Neom magnesium cream. I, too have restless leg syndrome and it can be miserable for both me and my husband.

Do you have any suggestions for a firm mattress that doesn’t get dips in it? Our last 2 mattresses got dips where our bodies rested.

Thanks for all of the wonderful suggestions for self-care. They are more and more important as our bodies age!

    1. No but we are in the market for a new one too because it’s past time. Perhaps memory foam ones?

  5. Elizabeth says:

Thanks for ideas! Is the Ugg robe like a sweater?I love the colors. A good reminder to update our robes, mine is quite ratty!

Do you feel like the infrared mats make a difference? How do you use it?

  7. I’m definitely going to try the Dior cuticle cream. Just a point to note….last year I ordered the Neom Diffuser for my niece for her birthday. It never arrived. I got emails from Neom saying they were having shipping issues from the UK. They did give me a refund and told me that it would still ship, but never did, and I never heard from them again.

    1. I got mine from Nordstrom. Amazon has it too so you might try again from those sources.

  8. I love all these great products! I’m especially interested in the slippers. They look great. The magnesium lotion with lavender sounds like it would be really helpful. These would make great gifts too.
