Fall Fashion: The Soft Knit Jacket

With fall fashion on my mind, my thoughts turn to jackets and blazers. They’re a great way to dress up a pair of jeans or simple pants and add a bit of warmth before it’s coat season. I love the polished look of a jacket but many traditional, woven ones are stiffer than I like. A soft knit jacket is a better fit for my lifestyle and my body. They drape nicely, move with me and are justĀ plain comfy.

Here are a few I found online.

NIC+ZOE KNIT BLAZER

ThisĀ knit blazer is a great alternative to traditional woven versions. This could be worn to the office but for my lifestyle, I would toss it on with a pair of jeans and some fun jewelry. I also love that it’s machine washable. Who wants to bother with the expense of dry cleaning and expose yourself to all those chemicals? Not me.

CITY CHIC KNIT BLAZER

This plus size knit blazerĀ has a more feminine shape with its peplum and faux leather piping. I love how the insets define the waist and make this curvyĀ jacket look fitted. It’s also in one of the great jewel tones for fall.

soft knit Animal Print Jacket from Chico's on A Well Styled Life
LEOPARD PRINT JACKET

This Leopard-Print Jacket is anything but traditional. Its ponte knit fabric stretches forĀ comfort and retains its shape with spandex. I’d style it just like this with a denim shirt or jeans. It would also be great over a simple black dress or skirt and top.

KNIT MOTO JACKET

This Knit Moto Jacket gets its edgy comfort from cotton. It would be a great way to ease into fall when the temps aren’tĀ being cooperative and itĀ gives a softer look than the traditional leather jackets.

soft knit Sullivan Jacket from Soft Surroundings on A Well Styled Life

This Sullivan Coat is made from a soft jersey knit and is as comfy as a pair of PJ’s. This would be a great piece to toss over your workout clothes to get you to and from the gym!

I like all these knit jackets. I think knit fabric is soooo much more comfortable than any other, plus it does not wrinkle during long hours of travel. Thank you for bringing these to your readers’ attention.

  4. I find traditional coats & jackets to be too stiff & confining so am always on the lookout for a softer & more comfortable alternative. These are all great choices! My favourite is the Sullivan Coat although I’m with Janet in that I would like it even better in a plum shade for fall.

    1. Plum, Merlot and Burgundy colors are on my radar too this fall. Iā€™ll be sharing what I find

  5. All good choices! I love denim with leopard and wear it paired this way. I would love a warm fall coat in a rich shade like plum or burgundy. Do you ever see that? I’m so tired of drab outerwear.
