Splurge or Save- Faux Suede Midi Skirt Outfit

I thought it would be fun to do another splurge or save post today. This time with a faux suede midi skirt outfit. There are days when I just don’t want to wear pants, and I think an outfit like this would be perfect.

Knee boots go together with midi skirts like peanut butter goes with jelly. It’s been a popular combo for as long as I can remember and a very workable way to wear flat footwear with a skirt.

I chose a cable sweater to play off the faux suede texture, then added hammered gold hoops for even more texture. I like the way faux suede updates the classic midi shape.

The splurge outfit comes in at around $3,542, and the save is around $267. Can you spot the difference between the faux suede midi skirt outfits and what tipped you off?

  1. Maybe out of touch, I don’t like the feel of fake suede or leather and prefer the real deal. IMHO, although it is more effort to maintain, the look, touch and ability to mold to an individual’s body and feet curvatures can’t be replicated in synthetic materials.

  2. I recognized the model and assumed that was the splurge outfit. I love the boots and skirt combo.

Love this look. I love faux suede but love real side too. I had a gray suede midi skirt years ago! I loved it. Love wearing a sweater with a midi or maxi skirt and flat boots.

  4. Actually preferred the sweater vinyl the affordable out better.
    Well done!

  5. I’ve introduced your posts to my BFF and favorite shopping consultant at Talbots (who, of course, shared it with her co-workers). We are all Jennifer fans!

    1. Thatā€™s so kind. Thank you so much Rebecca.

  6. Love the hammered gold earrings! Thanks.

  7. I love this look. The handbag was the thing that gave it away for me. I had forgotten how much I love the look of hammered gold earrings. I had a pair years ago, that were stolen when my apartment was broken into. Perhaps it is time to replace them. As always, thank you for a lovely post!

    1. I love the look of hammered metals too.

  8. Hello, Jennifer,
I would definitely buy the splurge.
I love the hammered earrings which were a staple of my youth, I like both fake skirts because suede is a little more acceptable in its fake shape than leather boots in their fake vinyl or urethane mishappens. Fake leather does not appeal to me in general and my taste rejects both handbags. My concern is that I must go on my holidays vacation andcI cannot wear my fur coat because it is not fake, on a stupid scale of hypocrisy.
