Casual Outfit in Black and Cream

Casual Outfit in Black and Cream

Happy Tuesday ladies. Many of you have asked me to share more budget-friendly options so I’m happy to be back with another look from Walmart for their We Dress America campaign.Jennifer Connolly of A Well Styled Life wearing black tee, ivory jeans, black espadrilles and black and ivory striped tote from Walmart

This post is sponsored by Walmart and ShopStyle.

Last time I shared a colorful look with flat, open-toe sandals and blue denim. This time I’m back with another casual look in go-with-everything neutrals.

I started to build this outfit from the bottom up with these Comfort by Brinley Classic Espadrilles in black. Espadrilles are a classic canvas shoe that just screams summer and have been part of my wardrobe for years.

These are available in four wearable colors including the color of the year, coral. They come with interchangeable laces so you can switch up the look with beige to match the wedge or the color which matches the toe. These are selling out fast but you can enter your email for a stock alert when they’re back in stock in your size.Jennifer from A Well Styled Life wearing casual tee and jeans from Walmart

I paired it with this black and cream striped Rope Tote by No Boundaries. It looks like the black is sold out but it’s available here in a multicolored stripe, here in a mint anchor pattern, and here in a coral flamingo pattern. The rope handles give it a nautical vibe which will be fun no matter where I go this summer.

The color is called marshmallow which is a fresh, soft alternative to pure white. They’re closer to a straight fit on me which suits me fine in a light-colored jean. Skin tight light colored jeans are seldom a good look on most people.

I topped it with this classic scoop neck tee from Time and Tru. This tee is available in 10 colors and a great staple for the summer. The curved hemline adds nice shaping and helps my legs look longer.Jennifer from A Well Styled Life wearing black and cream colored outfit with striped tote and espadrilles I also bought the tee in white which is totally opaque and offers great lingerie coverage. The cotton is substantial and it washed like a dream. The elbow length sleeves are a nice change from short sleeves and give a bit more coverage for those of us who are uncomfortable showing our upper arms.

I have 3 local Walmarts, but none of them had everything I wanted in the store. To make things easy, I ordered it all online which they shipped it to my closest store for free. I got a text message when they were available and breezed in to pick everything up. Easy Peasy.

Have you shopped at Walmart lately? I think you’ll be delighted with their styles and impressed with their quality. I know I am.

Do you take advantage of their free shipping to your local store?

Thanks for reading and have a great day.

Jennifer, you have inspired me to head to my local Walmart and check out their clothing! I have a dear friend with a great sense of style who is very ‘frugal’. Often when I’ve asked her where she got that top or those pants, she’ll say “I got it at Walmart”!

Let me know how you make out and remember there are many more options online with free shipping to your local store. That’s what I did.

Love this look of beige and black. I’m very curious as to what size you have in the Tru and Time black top. I have NEVER found that brand to fit me. They’re always too tight. I’m hoping they’ve redesigned them this year to be a looser fit because it really looks good on you. Love the longer sleeve length and the curved hem too!

I am wearing a medium. The white seemed to run smaller so I wear a large in that. I love the shape of this one too.

They do restock and you can register to be notified when items are back in stock.

Love the whole look! How exciting it is Walmart.

Walmart is fine for clothing. You should showcase Macys. I love their clothes! And the sales are always fantastic! They offer a lot of coupons so you can get an expensive top or pants at a reduced price. I shop there a lot so I get free shipping!

I have showcase Macy’s several times. I’ll be doing one in the future. Stay tuned.

Love the classic look of black and cream! But, can you please share how true to size the top and pants are? As always you look fabulous!

I am wearing a medium in the top and a 10 in the jeans. My white tee in this style is a large. I think these run true to size.

I have bought clothing at Walmart in the past, but I am not very impressed with the new line they are carrying. Time and Tru. The material is very flimsy. The outfit you selected is cute and tempts me to try these items. I am petite and the shirts at Walmart are very long on me, but the black shirt shown is a good length for you. I do wish that the local Walmarts carried more stock. I prefer to try on and purchase in the store. I would like more choices in petite sizing.

What I wanted just wasn’t available in my store so I ordered two sizes of everything. Had it shipped to my local store for free. Then returned the sizes that didn’t fit.

I can vouch for this top. I’ve been wearing these a couple of months. Black, white, and coral. I wear medium 99% of the time and these are *almost* too large.
They wash and wear unbelievably well. Finding a nice white T-shirt is SO hard!

I never thought of buying clothes at Walmart, TJ Maxx has been my go for thrifty. But Walmart has some great options.

Those espadrilles are just too darn cute…and affordable! I don’t usually shop Walmart, but would do so online. I’m glad to find some affordable alternatives to build out my wardrobe. I look to you often for styling inspiration.

I was tempted to buy the navy as well but I know I can wear the black anytime I’d reach for the navy.

I discovered Wal-Mart’s Time and Tru V- neck tees last summer. They wore like iron, washed well and always looked nice. I think I bought six of them. With shorts, it was my go-to summer uniform. I kno w they’ll see plenty of use this year, too.

Very cute! I love your posts but not the dressing room diaries or the would you wear it….I don’t get value from either. I like when you show how you dress and where you go, the personal things! Thanks.

You are the 3rd or 4th blogger I’ve read that mentions readers have requested budget friendly clothing. And, like all the others, you are showing items from Walmart. I will not shop at Walmart because they are not fair to their employees and they do not have good quality products. I am really disappointed that you, and the others are recommending anything from Walmart. I’d rather spend more on fewer good quality items (made in this country even better) to save money.

Thank you for high lightly Walmart. I’m very impressed with the jeans and love the elbow length sleeves on the t-shirt. Just wish the tee was a tad longer and had a v-neck.

I’m on the hunt for a v-neck version too. They’re my favorite.

You look great, as always. I haven’t been to a Walmart in years, but I may have to pop in and check out that t-shirt. I really like the cut. Thanks.

With the exception of underwear and pyjamas, I’ve never bought clothes at Walmart. I wonder if the selection is the same in our Canadian stores as it is your side of the border.
