Casual Outfit in Black and Cream
Happy Tuesday ladies. Many of you have asked me to share more budget-friendly options so I’m happy to be back with another look from Walmart for their We Dress America campaign.
This post is sponsored by Walmart and ShopStyle.
Last timeĀ I shared a colorful look with flat, open-toe sandals and blue denim. This time I’m back with another casual look in go-with-everything neutrals.
I started to build this outfit from the bottom up withĀ these
These are available in four wearable colors including the color of the year, coral. They come with interchangeable laces so you can switch up the look with beige to match the wedge or the color which matches the toe. These are selling out fast but you can enter your email for a stock alert when they’re back in stock in your size.
I paired it with this black and cream striped Rope Tote by No Boundaries. It looks like the black is sold out but it’sĀ available here in a multicolored stripe,Ā here in a mint anchor pattern, and here in a coral flamingo pattern. The rope handles give it a nautical vibe which will be fun no matter where I go this summer.
I wore them with these high rise skinny jeans from theĀ Ev1 From Ellen DeGeneresĀ collection. The color is called marshmallow which is a fresh, soft alternative to pure white. They’re closer to a straight fit on me which suits me fine in a light-colored jean. Skin tight light colored jeans are seldom a good look on most people.
I topped it with this Ā I also bought the tee in white which is totally opaque and offers great lingerie coverage. The cotton is substantial and it washed like a dream. The elbow length sleeves are a nice change from short sleeves and give a bit more coverage for those of us who are uncomfortable showing our upper arms.
I have 3 local Walmarts, but none of them had everything I wanted in the store. To make things easy, I ordered it all online which they shipped it to my closest store for free. I got a text message when they were available and breezed in to pick everything up. Easy Peasy.
Have you shopped at Walmart lately? I think you’ll be delighted with their styles and impressed with their quality. I know I am.
Do you take advantage of their free shipping to your local store?
Thanks for reading and have a great day.
With the exception of underwear and pyjamas, I’ve never bought clothes at Walmart. I wonder if the selection is the same in our Canadian stores as it is your side of the border.
You look great, as always. I haven’t been to a Walmart in years, but I may have to pop in and check out that t-shirt. I really like the cut. Thanks.
Thank you Stormy. Have fun
Thank you for high lightly Walmart. I’m very impressed with the jeans and love the elbow length sleeves on the t-shirt. Just wish the tee was a tad longer and had a v-neck.
Iām on the hunt for a v-neck version too. Theyāre my favorite.
You are the 3rd or 4th blogger Iāve read that mentions readers have requested budget friendly clothing. And, like all the others, you are showing items from Walmart. I will not shop at Walmart because they are not fair to their employees and they do not have good quality products. I am really disappointed that you, and the others are recommending anything from Walmart. Iād rather spend more on fewer good quality items (made in this country even better) to save money.
Very cute! I love your posts but not the dressing room diaries or the would you wear it….I don’t get value from either. I like when you show how you dress and where you go, the personal things! Thanks.
Thanks Gayle.
I discovered Wal-Martās Time and Tru V- neck tees last summer. They wore like iron, washed well and always looked nice. I think I bought six of them. With shorts, it was my go-to summer uniform. I kno w theyāll see plenty of use this year, too.
Iām very impressed with their quality. I need to look for more shapes and colors.
Those espadrilles are just too darn cute…and affordable! I don’t usually shop Walmart, but would do so online. I’m glad to find some affordable alternatives to build out my wardrobe. I look to you often for styling inspiration.
I was tempted to buy the navy as well but I know I can wear the black anytime Iād reach for the navy.
You look fantastic and ready for a casual day of fun!
Thank you Deanne
I can vouch for this top. Iāve been wearing these a couple of months. Black, white, and coral. I wear medium 99% of the time and these are *almost* too large.
They wash and wear unbelievably well. Finding a nice white T-shirt is SO hard!
I never thought of buying clothes at Walmart, TJ Maxx has been my go for thrifty. But Walmart has some great options.
Itās great tee. I have the white too.
I have bought clothing at Walmart in the past, but I am not very impressed with the new line they are carrying. Time and Tru. The material is very flimsy. The outfit you selected is cute and tempts me to try these items. I am petite and the shirts at Walmart are very long on me, but the black shirt shown is a good length for you. I do wish that the local Walmarts carried more stock. I prefer to try on and purchase in the store. I would like more choices in petite sizing.
What I wanted just wasnāt available in my store so I ordered two sizes of everything. Had it shipped to my local store for free. Then returned the sizes that didnāt fit.
Love the classic look of black and cream! But, can you please share how true to size the top and pants are? As always you look fabulous!
I am wearing a medium in the top and a 10 in the jeans. My white tee in this style is a large. I think these run true to size.
Walmart is fine for clothing. You should showcase Macys. I love their clothes! And the sales are always fantastic! They offer a lot of coupons so you can get an expensive top or pants at a reduced price. I shop there a lot so I get free shipping!
I have showcase Macyās several times. Iāll be doing one in the future. Stay tuned.
Love the whole look! How exciting it is Walmart.
Thanks Pam
Everything seems to be sold out.
They do restock and you can register to be notified when items are back in stock.
Love this look of beige and black. Iām very curious as to what size you have in the Tru and Time black top. I have NEVER found that brand to fit me. Theyāre always too tight. Iām hoping theyāve redesigned them this year to be a looser fit because it really looks good on you. Love the longer sleeve length and the curved hem too!
I am wearing a medium. The white seemed to run smaller so I wear a large in that. I love the shape of this one too.
Jennifer, as always you look nice. Really appreciate the more affordable options you give us.
Thank you. Iām happy to share these options for you.
Jennifer, you have inspired me to head to my local Walmart and check out their clothing! I have a dear friend with a great sense of style who is very āfrugalā. Often when Iāve asked her where she got that top or those pants, sheāll say āI got it at Walmartā!
Let me know how you make out and remember there are many more options online with free shipping to your local store. Thatās what I did.
I really appreciate this column. It shows that if you have a good eye for fashion you can look attractive at any price point.
Exactly Anne! Looking stylish has no price point.
Cute outfit Jennifer. The shoes and bag are really cute. Thanks for the lower cost options!
Thanks Mary, itās my pleasure to share lower price points because women all have different budgets
