Dressing Up Slippers and Workout Pants

Sweater season is in full swing for most of us and I couldn’t be happier. Today’s OOTD is pretty similar to the one I shared here, but it has a totally different feel for me. I’m a neutral lover through and through but on gray days, I welcome the pick me up that pretty colors provide.

My scarf is technically a jennifer of a well styled life wearing Nordstrom blue sweater, zella pants and Caslon shoes

Considering these are basically workout pants and the shoes are indoor-outdoor slippers, I think this look dresses up pretty nicely. This may be why scarves are my favorite accessories. They can work miracles with a very simple outfit.

Here are some “here today, gone tomorrow” type sales that end soon-

Banana Republic – If you’re a fan of plaid, this popular Dillon shirt is marked from $79.50 to $29, today only. I’m thinking this is a pretty great deal for holiday gifts. They’re available in regular, petite, and tall in 6 different plaids.

Ann Taylor is giving 40% off full-priced sweaters and tops, and 50% 2 sweaters and tops with the code SAVEMORE, ends today.

J. Crew – 40% off layers with the code FALLLAYERS, ends tomorrow.

I’ll see you back here tomorrow for would you wear it!

  1. Hi;
    Thanks for the heads up on the Nordys cashmere sweaters. I just ordered the Vneck in surf blue- can’t wait to wear it.
    Sounds like a swell time was had in B.C. Wish I was there.
    Best wishes;

  2. That blue looks gorgeous on you and the scarf is a perfect finishing touch. Thanks for explaining how you tied it. I’m going to try that with some of mine.

      1. Wait–am I getting this right? I thought you were “petite”–how do you have 9 1/2 size feet?

      2. You are getting this right. I am 5’4″ tall and wear a size 9 1/2 shoe. Sometimes I can go down to a 9 and with workout sneakers, I usually go up to a ten! Short doesn’t always mean tiny.

  3. Hi Jennifer, That was a great article on you yesterday on Cindy’s blog. You are my favorite blog.
    I’m ordering that lovely scarf. Plus, I’d like to ask you about the Ilia lipstick. Love that it’s a clean lipstick. Can you suggest a color that might work for me? My hair was dark before I decided to let it go gray. I’m fair with light brown eyes and darker eyebrows. It’s really hard to tell on the computer. I don’t get out much. Over 70 with some health issues. I’d appreciate any advice you might have. By the way, you probably know that Bobbi Brown is no longer associated with Bobbi Brown makeup. She has a clean line that has just come out. It’s called Jones Road and I ordered the sample kit to try. Thanks for your help on the Ilia lipstick!

    1. It was so sweet for Cindy to include me in her series. I did not know about her Bobbie’s new line!! Thank you for sharing, Carolyn. If you have warm-toned skin the Cinnabar might be nice. Tango is described as a true red which theoretically should flatter everyone. I haven’t seen them in person and don’t know your coloring so it’s hard to say for sure.

  4. Going to look into buying the outdoor slippers. They look cute! You look great in that color blue, love the casual outfit. It’s nice to look stylish while remaining comfortable at home.

  5. Just bought the shoes!! Thank you Jennifer what a great price! Those shoes look so much like Birdies (also on my Christmas wish list) and look so polished yet relaxed to me to me. Easy styling. Happy weekend:)

  6. Banana Republic has been hitting it out of the ballpark for me this fall; just ordered the shirt. And I love this outfit on you!

  7. Thanks Jennifer, just bought the Banana Republic shirt for my granddaughter! Not easy to find a tall in a cute style on sale!
    Still struggling with my foot operation or I’d buy those cute slippers!!
    Maybe in January I’ll start redoing my style…now it’s a boot and not the cute ones you wear!
