Casual Outfit With Faux Leather Moto Jacket

I have never been a fan of real or faux leather moto jackets on me. I love the cool vibe on other people but the shine accentuates the lack of smoothness on my face and the style just seems too hard for me. I’m more the suede, drapey type. So imagine my surprise to discover a jacket that proves me wrong.

This is faux leather with the softest, buttery texture I’ve ever felt. I just can’t keep my hands off it! It also comes in a spruce type Jasper green and black, but this natural cream is irresistible. I’m a huge fan of the slimming effect you get from asymmetrical seaming, so this jacket tics that box too. jennifer connolly wearing faux leather jacket and pullon jeans with leopard shoes

It has side zip pockets and zippers at the lower sleeve yet still retains its elegance. For a machine-washable jacket,Ā  this one has a lot going for it plus the price is amazing!fashion blogger wearing faux leather jacket, blus jeans, leopard flats standing in front of all

I love it combined with this lightweight turtleneck. Chico’s shows the neck neatly folded over in half but I prefer mine scrunched. It’s a cotton blend with CoolMax technology so it will keep you warm without overheating. The turtleneck comes in several of my favorite neutrals but I opted for this camel. I’m not sure what it is about camel, but it feels so elegant to me.

This color is not too warm so it will coordinate with lots of other colors. In fact, it’s perfect with jennifer of well styled life wearing camel colored turtleneck, cream colored jacket and sunglasses

I skipped earrings and simply added this bronze-toned charm necklace. It has an extender which allowed me to make it long enough to wear over the sweater.

I’ve never been a fan of clothes that require a lot of fussy care so this faux leather really appeals to me.

What have you discovered you could wear that you never thought you would?

  1. Love this jacket. So sleek and soft looking. It looks fabulous on you.
    Think I need one.
    Thanks for sharing!

  2. I like it but if I buy another jacket, I have no place to put it. I’m a jacket addict. I like Chicos but if they fit my bust, they can be too wide in the shoulder. But that’s my problem not theirs, Im 5’3″ and weigh 136 but a 38″ bust, it can be a problem.

  3. Iā€™m not a leather clothing fan either. Actually your comments about the slick shine being unflattering to your skin rings a bell with me. My skin isnā€™t especially coarse but not smooth enough for shine. Suede, if light and soft ( as in drapey) works well.
Faux leather is too unbreathable for me. I avoid all synthetics that donā€™t breathe. The style is ok but for myself I need less boxy, more shaping seams with my slightly hour glass figure or I look boxy all over. Side closures donā€™t have an especially slenderizing affect on me either. I need a center seam for balance. I love the color of this jacket and how youā€™re wearing it. …..camel is one of my core colors…love it…, though harder to wear as my hair color is taking in a less blonde and more taupe shade. The camel isnā€™t as harmonious. Real real bummer!

    1. My hair color is changing so it will alter what looks flattering on me too.

  4. Beautiful outfit nice again. Love your style?

  5. Itā€™s lovely! Fantastic jacket and I love it!

  6. Jennifer–
May I ask about the jacket sizing? Did you opt for Regular or Petite? I’m wondering about length, both sleeve and body.

    1. I am wearing the 1 regular. I have long arms so I worried the petite would be too short.

    2. I’m wondering about sizing too! Chico’s website doesn’t seem to give garment measurements which are so helpful. The online comments aren’t very helpful in that regard either. I love the green color and style of jacket. I may have to make the hour drive to try one on in store.

  7. Do the fake leather jackets peel and crack? I have heard of that happening with well made faux leather jackets.

  8. The cream jacket is perfect on you! Right now, Chico’s is offering 40% off full priced jackets till noon today. Hurry, girls!

This butter soft natural creme color moto jacket is my favorite as well. Its stylized well to give it a feminine look. LOVE itā¤
Jennifer this looks fantastic on you!

  10. I think your jacket is beautiful! I particularly like the zipper on the front. Many times Moto jackets have a lot of “hardware” on the front. This one is so sleek looking.

    1. Agreed! In not a fan of too many extraneous details in front.

      1. I have short arms so moto jackets are not in my closet. Perhaps there is one out there without zippered sleeves. Bummer!

      2. Iā€™ll keep my eyes out for one for you

  11. I splurged and bought that jacket in the green and black. I love wearing them!

  12. Luv the entire look on you. I have recently started to wear running shoes with my Jeans. Only for comfort not the look.
Jennifer, would you please do a tutorial on how you style your hair along with the tools and products you use. I like the longer length on you . Your hair always looks so cute! I have fine hair along with a similar cut. Please show us what you do. Have a great day!

    1. I will try to put a video together for you. I havenā€™t had my hair cut for months other than what I can do so itā€™s really out of shape. In one word, itā€™s product. Lots of product.

  13. You are so cute!! I love this look and have often found black moto jackets didnā€™t work for me for the same reason.

    1. Thanks Kathy šŸ™‚ The soft color has a lot to do with why I love this.

  14. This is a look that I would absolutely love to imitate! The soft neutrals of the jacket and turtleneck allow you to create a subtle glow with your makeup and hair style. This is a great example of the ā€œno hard linesā€ rule. I love this look paired with a favorite necklace. I could certainly see those two pieces pairing very well with other pants or a skirt.
Yes, this jacket would be a step out of my usual and very predictable wardrobe choices. I like it!

    1. I havenā€™t heard of the ā€œno hard linesā€ rule but I certainly like it.

  15. Welcome to the Moto jacket world! You look stunning in that very casual chic outfit. I own about 4 Chicoā€™s Moto-style jackets and love them all. As you said, they are so versatile! Iā€™m loving your sneakers as well. Have a great day!

  16. Joyce Reardon says:

Love this outfit and it looks great on you!

  17. I have been anti sneakers for every day use until recent months when I do a lot of walking, hiking. I bought a pair of Saucony PWR run sneakers from a running store and live in them. A light grey, no bright colors for me. Lots of compliments. No more hip problems,
like walking on pillows. Converted to a sneaker girl.

  18. I have this jacket and it is gorgeous. However, it has some deep wrinkles that detract from the beauty of it. Do you know of a way to rid or minimize the wrinkles? I have tried placing a towel over the jacket and ironing on low heat and no steam but that did not work. All suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

    1. I steamed mine from the inside and the outside. That released the few I had. Iā€™m betting they loosen more in the wash.

  19. Rebecca Zak says:

Cute outfit. Something I definitely would wear!
