City Beauty sent me a collection of their pretty colors and formula to sample. They’re a cruelty-free brand I’ve been happy to work with here for the launch of their amazing City Lips Oil. They started their company back in 2002 with just one product, their City Lips Plumping Gloss, and have grown from there to be trusted by 2.2 million customers worldwide. I can’t say I notice plumping on my lips, but they do feel amazingly hydrated and look much smoother. The matte makes a great base for under the glosses, and since it stays put, I don’t need a lip liner, which can sometimes feel drying.

I read an article recently that the best lipstick colour for anyone was the colour of their nipples! I photographed one of my nipples on my phone and matched the colour in store. Everyone commented how nice I looked, what had I changed? Not telling!

I like a very natural lip. I am a pale white haired with silver streak woman. A bright pink or red lip looks garish on me. I use just a hint of pink which is closest to my natural color. Laugh but I found the best at Natural Grocers called Mineral Fusion in Glisten. It is more of a tinted lip moisturizer than a lipstick but works for me. Thank you for your work. I always read your posts with my tea.
Mineral Fusion is great! I love their lip pencils.
But today is National Milk Chocolate Day and National Hamburger Day! Love lipstick, but if it’s a contest between lipstick and chocolate, It’s not lipstick I’m choosing – LOL

Yay! Iāve been using the City Lights clear as a lipstick base for several years and realized Iām almost out! Iāve never understood why I donāt get the advertised plumping action, but love the moisturizing effect which has kept my lips unchapped through chemo and radiation this year! That is a great lip color for you. I’ve always worn Estee Lauder but lately I’ve been trying different things. I get Ipsy once a month and really like some of these products. I started using lip plumper and liner. I think it makes a difference.

Hello, I enjoyed the post about lipsticks. Just a note about hair…..I use Aveda thickening spray on my roots when my hair is about 80% dry and I think it really gives a lot of body. Aveda volumizing spray works well too. Just an idea.

My favorite lip colors are NARS American Woman an Bobbi Brownās Nude. I donāt do a full lip cover but press color to the fullest part of my lips with my finger. I like the muted color. I never use a lip liner. All this said, I find so many of my friends do not wear any lip color. My sisters never wear lip color. I often wonder how this routine started with me.
I would prefer that my lip color was not the first thing that people noticed about me. I overheard a conversation between two men, one trying to describe a certain woman. Finally he said that it was the one who wore the bright lipstick. Instantly, the other man knew who he was talking about. It made me think that we donāt always see ourselves the way others do.
My history with lip color spans my entire adult life! Why? Lol
