Denim Looks For Summer
Happy Tuesday, ladies. I have two denim looks for summer today that satisfy the taste for bright, colorful, soft, and relaxed. I also insist mine be comfy and flattering too.

I love this soft color combination with a column of white under a fresh green cardigan and some neutral accessories. I have several of these everyday cardigans and love them year-round. They’re a lightweight knit that drapes beautifully in a casual style that goes with so many things. It comes in nine colors this season…mine is Green Ghost. It’s available in sizes XS-XXL. I am wearing small.
The Wit & Wisdom skinny pants have five-pocket styling and look like a jean to me, except they’re softer. They’re a cotton blend with 3% spandex that come in 8 colors, petite and regular sizes 00P-14W. I am wearing a 6P, so they really are ankle length on me which is nice!
My hat is on constant repeat now that it’s sunny every day. I love this classic Joanna style because it’s chic and looks much more expensive than it is. So I have this wool one, the natural straw with a black ribbon, Ā and this vanilla or lilac with color-coordinated ribbon.
Let’s bump up the volume with bold colors and a touch of pattern!
This Slim Sheri Jean by NYDJ is a perennial favorite for many women. They bring it back every season in fresh colors. This summer, they’re in 5 colors, sizes 00-14W. I am wearing pink peony in a 6, which resembles a bright raspberry shade. These will stretch out, so they recommend you order one size down. I sometimes size down in NYDJ, but I didn’t need to this time and am happy with the fit.
This pretty chiffon blouse comes in 17 patterns and colors. I chose a floral that would coordinate with the jeans and tie in with the sweater. I love that the long sleeve can be buttoned or folded up and held in place with roll tabs. It comes in sizes XS -XL. I am wearing a small.
Note- this blouse is sheer, so I assumed I would need a camisole, but I didn’t. MyĀ nude bra (in rose beige) is invisible under this blouse, which points out the importance of finding a nude that matches your skin tone.

These wedge espadrilles are some of the comfiest sandals I’ve worn. Ugg is known for comfort, and these certainly deliver. The wedge is low and stable and the velcro straps keep them firmly attached so they feel solid. They come in this ivory, navy, or black in sizes 5.5-10.

NordstromĀ is my favorite department store for so many reasons, not the least of which is their incredible customer service with free shipping and returns, always. Sadly the Ugg espadrilles are not available in my size/color. I’ll try to check back on them. Thanks for the recommendation. I have trouble wearing heels or loose shoes…and was very impressed with the reviews of these.

This outfit looks absolutely marvelous on you! The colors are tempting me (well, not the green cardigan – I look dreadful in that shade). Sadly, denim jeans and polyester tops are not comfortable in our overwhelmingly hot and humid summers in NC. Hmm..maybe I can think about keeping this for a cool, rainy day. Thank you for the inspiration.
Humidity is so hard to dress for. That’s when I go for loose and airy.

Jennifer, both of these outfits are winners! That fresh green cardigan is super nice, and it looks great with both the white and bright pink pants. The flowered chiffon blouse is the icing on the cake! BTW those Ugg sandals are tempting me. I have stopped wearing heels because I can’t tolerate them, but those sandals look comfortable enough for me to give them a try. Thank you.
They’re really comfy. I still have a few pairs of low heels, but I prefer platforms, flatforms or wedges for a bit of height.

Lovely outfit! I love colors and wear brights often, but I also love white jeans in the summer too! I like to wear them with my blue and white striped blouses for that classic look! Love Nordstrom too!
