Favorite Early Fall 2024 New Arrivals From Loft
It’s been a delight to finally get into some stores to see what’s new, so much so that my brain is on fashion overload. Last week, I got to try on some lovely early fall 2024 new arrivals from Loft. The colors are such a nice change from summer and they feel like I’m getting a fresh start.

A try-on is when I go into a store and style their latest collection so readers can see what’s new and get some ideas for how they can wear it. I’m not shopping for myself and seldom buy clothes because I prefer to shop online. My hair gets pretty trashed, and I’m often barefoot. For size reference, I’m 5’4″, which puts me on the cusp of petite. I have wide shoulders and straight hips with no obvious curves. Loft sizing is 0-18, in regular, petite, and tall lengths.

This pretty floral sweater is a great weight for fall. It has plum, beige, and lavender flowers on a soft white background. It’s a machine-washable cotton blend that feels super soft against the skin. I’m wearing it with the Riviera slim pants in their popcorn, which is an off-white without yellow. The fabric is a substantial double knit with stretch and also comes in pink. The Riviera style is a customer favorite at Loft and comes in lots of colors each season, including faux leather. I find the petite a smidge too short on my legs, so I always opt for the regular.
On the right, I’m pairing the sweater with these flare bi-stretch pants in deep burgundy. They fit like a dream, and their flare leg will be great over both shoes and booties. These have a high rise and are full-length, which I find a nice change from all the crops we’ve been seeing. They also come in an emerald shade, which is equally rich-looking. Which look do you prefer? The light pants or the burgundy pants with this sweater?

I love this plaid blazer for fall. It’s a great neutral and beautifully made. My size was sold out, so I’m wearing a 6P, which is a bit too snug on me and would be better in an 8P. I love these types of blazers popped over a simple top with jeans and sneakers, or you could elevate the look with trousers for work. It’s in varying shades of charcoal heather gray.
I’m wearing it over this mock neck top in black, which is a great layering piece for fall. It also comes in soft white or camel. On the bottom, I’m wearing these high-rise skinny jeans in black. We knew skinny jeans were making a comeback, and Loft has a good selection. These are fitted from thigh to ankle and would look great tucked into some knee boots this winter.

I bought these straight-leg cords in whisper-white last year and have worn the heck out of them. This year, they come in 5 shades; this is the camel. The 30 is a bit baggy on me, so they run true to size. They have a wider wale than the Talbots corduroy, yet feel just as buttery soft. I paired them with the same mock turtleneck and this cropped plaid blazer. Because it’s cropped, I went the regular instead of the petite because I have a long torso. It’s a clay and white plaid that will coordinate with so many other colors. This is beautifully tailored with 6% spandex and fully lined. This would be great over a simple dress or dressed down with jeans.

Next, I decided to level up the little plaid jacket with these bi-stretch trousers in iced espresso. These pleated trousers have 4% spandex, which gives them enough stretch to be super comfy with a smooth, elevated feel. You could wear these to work, or they’d be great dressed up with a pretty blouse or sparkly sweater for the holidays. You could also dress them down for a casual look with white tennies and a casual top.

FYI- The above cardigan and pants are grey…not some weird blue.
These are the same straight-leg corduroy pants in coastal grey that I showed above in camel. This grey pair came home with me. I love the slim-through-the-hip fit and straight leg. It’s funny, but I never owned anything corduroy until a few years ago, and although I’m still extremely picky about which makes the cut for me, I’m finding them a great fabric for fall.
I’m pairing them with this sweater blazer in heathered charcoal grey. It’s a mid-weight cotton blend knit with notched lapels and no buttons. I’ve layered it over this lightweight crew neck pullover in oxidized copper. This is a great layering piece for fall days when you need sleeves but not warmth. It comes in six pretty colors.

This soft utility shirt comes in 4 colors and is a best seller with good reason. The fabric drapes beautifully, and it looks much more expensive than it is. I love its fold-back cuffs and classic styling. I’m styling it with this cotton blend v-neck cardigan. There’s no doubt that chocolate is the color of the season, so I’m experimenting with it as often as possible. I love the way it works with this pink shirt, and it is a softer option than black. It comes in 4 colors this season.
These jeans are a high-rise wide flare with pintuck seams down the front. They’re fitted through the hips and thighs, then flare out. These are too long for me, so I’d be better off in the petite, which should have a proportionally smaller flare. They’re very soft denim with cotton/lyocell and spandex.

Have you added chocolate to your wardrobe this fall?

I can alaways find somethng at the Loft. Your outfits are nice and a “finished” casual look. PS I need new glasses and love yours.Would you share brand/style?
These are from Lens Crafters and the brand is Burberry
Thank you for highlighting these Loft items. It’s not a store I usually shop at, but seeing these things modeled so beautifully by you, I will check it out!
Love the Loft plaid blazer! I just might need one!
I love all these outfits! The floral sweater looks so nice on you and the blazers look amazing. Thanks for the try on.
You look terrific in all of your choices. I love the corduroy pants! I have never bought any pants or jeans from the Loft because of their size chart. At 5’1 1/2”tall and 140 lbs., I need petite inseams. Are the high rise pants tight in the waist or is there some easement? I’m a size 2P at Chicos as they have easement added into the waist but the hips and thighs are only a little bit too big. How do Lofts sizing compare with Chicos? So far Chicos isn’t offering cords. I would love to buy those grey cords you are wearing. I’m not within 50 miles of a store so I buy online. It is getting expensive to order and have to return product.
I did not find the waist particulalry loose for the hip ans seat area. I’ll be heading into Chico’s very soon and hope to find some options for your there.
What a cutie pie he is!! Enjoy your time with him.
