We may all be ready for fall and the gorgeous crisp temperatures that come with it, but many of us live in climates that are still warm. I do. Today I have an outfit that’s perfect for fall, but with a quick change for footwear, works perfectly on a less than crisp fall day.
This post is sponsored by Nordstrom and Shopstyle Collection. I’m excited and honored to partner with Nordstrom again to bring you some fall fashion. Thank you for supporting the brands that support ASWSL.

For those of you still firmly committed to your skinny jeans, I have a new option for you to consider. It’s a hybrid to try that works better with booties than skinnies, yet is still body-conscious. These Itty Bitty Boot flares combine the best of both. Plus version here. They’re very slim through the legs, then flare out slightly at the bottom to go over your bootie, shootie, lug loafer, etc.
The flare happens below your knee so they maintain a very shapely look. They’re available in regular and petite sizes and selling out fast. This Itty Bitty Boot option has a slightly different wash and is equally as popular. They recommend you size down to allow for stretch and I agree. These have a nice high rise and lots of stretch so they’re super comfy.
I kept my jewelry very simple for this look. A pair of cable hoop earrings, a simple green necklace, and my birthday present to myself, this rose gold charm bracelet. What’s cool about this bracelet, is that every other link is hinged so you can easily add or remove charms yourself. I have an old charm bracelet that a jeweler soldered the charms on, but I prefer the flexibility to be able to change these with my mood.
I’m seeing utility jackets everywhere this season, so I’m trying one in a soft, sage green in a lightweight fabric. This Lightweight Utility Jacket also comes in blue or black but this green spoke to me of soft fall days and settling in for a cozy time. It’s 100% Tencel so will breathe with you and be comfortable in fluctuating temperatures.

Underneath, I’m wearing a v-neck soft, crepe, long sleeve blouse in soft watercolor greens, cream, tan, and olive. This also comes in several other colors, in petite and regular, sizes 0-18. It has a curved hem that I tucked in but it looks equally cute hanging below the bottom of the jacket.
My booties are super comfortable and water-resistant. Booties are my go-to footwear for cooler temperatures because they feel stable on my feet plus these offer a cushioned footbed. Suede can be a nightmare in the fall and winter because water destroys it, but because these are water-resistant, they’re very durable. I’ve worn my black version for years and they look brand new. These are sized from 5-11.5, in medium, wide, and extra-wide widths! A quick change into these mules, and this outfit is perfect for mild warmish days.
Nordstrom is my favorite department store for so many reasons, not the least of which is their incredible customer service with free shipping and returns, always. Joining the Nordy club here is free and allows you to earn points towards notes you can use to shop plus you get free basic alterations. They also offer BOPUS, ROTUS (reserve online, try on in-store), and curbside pickup.
Has it cooled off where you live?
Thanks for reading ladies and remember to wear what makes you feel confident.
