My Favorite Cashmere For Fall
My favorite season is here…cashmere season. I’m an equal-opportunity cashmere lover and own many brands at all price points. My collection got ravaged by moths several seasons ago, which broke my heart, so I had to replace many. Now, I store all my sweaters in these lightweight, clear garment bags so I can see what I have, but the moths can’t feast on it. Today, I’m sharing my favorite cashmere for fall. The price points vary, as does the quality, but it’s hard to go wrong with any cashmere, in my book.

I love wearing cashmere because wool is often itchy and too warm for my mild Northern California climate. I can wear cashmere almost year-round because it breathes, and I don’t feel overheated wearing it.
Favorite Budget Cashmere For Fall
Let’s start with my favorite affordable cashmere, which is from Quince. They produce amazing quality sweaters for a fraction of what other companies charge. In fact, everything I’ve bought from them has been fantastic, so they’re one of my preferred go-to brands. They are committed to sustainability and only partner with factories that meet or exceed global guidelines for workplace safety and equitable wages.
Quince Cashmere V-Neck Sweater

My first dip into their cashmere was with this $50 Cashmere sweater. This V-neck comes in 14 colors this season, but sadly, not this pale blue. Hopefully, they will bring it back. This sweater is made from 12 gauge, 100% Grade-A Mongolian cashmere sourced from goats in Inner Mongolia and is incredibly soft. I have this sweater in four colors, and a fifth is on the way.

I also have several of their $50 cashmere crew neck sweaters, which come in 18 colors. These hold up beautifully, and I have never seen any brand beat this price.
Quince Cashmere T-shirt

I love the sweaters so much that I decided their Cashmere Tee would be a great wardrobe basic, and they are. They’re a perfect layering piece or great on their own all year long. I now own three of these and couldn’t love them more. They come in 14 colors this season, and at $44.90, they’re less than half the price of the J. Crew cashmere tee that looks identical.
Quince Mongolian Cashmere Oversized Boyfriend Cardigan Sweater

I can’t believe I don’t have a better photo of this cashmere cardigan, considering I have worn this puppy on constant repeat since I bought it last fall. I was so grateful that I took it to Canada this summer because June was really cold, and I wore it almost daily! It comes in 11 gorgeous colors, and at $139.90, there will definitely be another color in my wardrobe this fall.
Favorite Mid-Priced Cashmere For Fall
Nordstrom Brand Crewneck Sweater

Nordstrom carries their own brand of cashmere. The signature line and their more affordable line. They make different colors every year and are a great quality cashmere. I bought this lavender during the anniversary sale, but sadly, it sold out fast.

They also make a V-neck here and a turtleneck here. I love all three styles, and the prices are great.

Vince Weekend V-Neck Cashmere Sweater

I kept hearing how great Vince cashmere is, so when they went on sale last fall, I bought this black V-neck and an oatmeal-colored one. (It was right after the moth feast, so I had a lot of sweaters to replace. It’s a teeny bit thicker than the Quince cashmere and fabulously soft. Vince also makes a wool/cashmere blend, but I found them itchy and prefer the pure cashmere. They do pill eventually, but it takes much longer than on the less expensive kinds of cashmere.
Jenni Kane Cashmere Fisherman Sweater

I’d read so many glowing reviews about this particular Fisherman sweater that I sprang for one when they were marked way down last year during their Black Friday sale. When the box arrived, I fully expected to send it back…until I touched it. It’s the softest cashmere I have ever felt in my life. I tried it on, and that was it. I could not send it back.
All cashmere pills, and any brand that tells you theirs won’t, is lying. I’ve worn this sweater multiple times and can report that it takes many, many wearings for the tiniest pill to begin forming on this sweater. Longer than any other cashmere I own. I swear by this Gleener and sweater shaver to remove pills I do get on my cashmere.
FYI- You can sign up on the widget below to be notified when Jenni Kane is having a sale. That’s how I got mine.
Are you a fan of cashmere?

I love Quince! I have 2 of their merino wool v neck in medium and a cotton cashmere in small. I’m 5′ 1″ 108 lbs. They are the perfect length. I read the reviews to try to determine what size to order and if in doubt I order small and medium, then return the one i don’t want. Their customer service is awesome! You can’t beat free shipping and free returns. I have several cashmere sweaters, different brands. I’m going to order one from Quince next!
I love their cashmere
I went to the Jenni Kayne website but it doesn’t seem to be offering a 20% discount? Is it over? Thanks
Yes it just ended. They will do it again around Black Friday.
Oooh, I love cashmere. I ordered a TShirt in Sapphire. It’ll be perfect for work. What a great price. I cannot wait for it to arrive.
You will love it!
Jennifer, you look like a petite lady. I am also quite petite at 5’1″ tall and 102 lbs. The quince $50 cashmere sweater looks so good on you, but when I purchased it, it was huge! I had to send it back. On you it seems to fit beautifully. Did you shrink it?
Oh no! At 5’4”, I’m at the tall end of petite. I am however, 42 pounds heavier than you and the medium fits me perfectly. Did you try the XS?
