Top Fall Home Decor Ideas and Must-Have Items for a Cozy Home

LED Flameless Candles

There’s something so cozy about the glow of a flickering candle. If you’re like me and worried that you’re going to forget to blow your candles out before leaving the house or falling asleep, these are safe alternatives. I also love that you can snuggle these into bookshelves and other cozy spots where it’s just not safe to have an open flame.

Throw Pillows

I find it totally unnecessary and wasteful to change out your throw pillows every season and holiday. Plus, the off-season pillow storage is a nightmare! I find it smarter to have a great pair of quality inserts and just switch out my pillow covers when I’d like a change.

Welcome Door Mat

A new welcome mat is an inexpensive way to freshen up your front porch or stoop. This is a cheery one you can put out at the end of summer and leave until you choose to put out Christmas or other holiday decor.

Table Runner

I like putting together a simple tablescape before hosting friends and family. A table runner or tablecloth is a great way to add a little warmth and visual interest to your table. Mine tend to get spilled on so a refresh is always in order at my house.

Fall Wreath

A seasonal wreath is a great way to both improve your curb appeal and give your guests a cozy welcome into your home. Pro tip: Grab a wreath storage bag so you can keep your wreaths in tip-top shape in the attic, basement, or garage when not in use.

Throw Blanket with Fringe

Draping a throw blanket across your chair, couch, or bed is an easy and affordable way to create an inviting, cozy space and update for the season. This color reminds me of a pumpkin spice latte and just feels like fall.

Sherpa Pumpkin Pillow

These pumpkin pillows are adorable. They’re definitely more fun than functional with their sherpa covering, and so whimsical you could put them anywhere from a hall table, dinner table, a guest bed, or window seat.

NEST Reed Diffuser in Hearth

This packs a great fragrance punch and comes in several different scents. I always chose a woodsy scent for fall, which gets me in a cozy mood. Reed diffusers are a great alternative to scented candles, and I love that this brand is cruelty-free.

Brass Mottled Mercury Glass Light-Up Pumpkins, Set of 3

I’ve been collecting vintage mercury glass for years. I love these little battery-operated LED light-up pumpkins to add some atmosphere in the evening. I’d add them to kitchen counters, guest bath counters, displays on a mantle or bookshelf, or along the dining room table.

Faux Floral Centerpieces

Dried arrangments look great until they get crisp and start to break off into little pieces every time I touch them. I use fresh flowers in the spring and summer months, and I like filling my vases with seasonally appropriate faux stems in the fall and winter. They look great on a shelf, as a centerpiece, or on an entryway table. I also remember reading that dried (dead) flowers are very bad for the Feng Sui of your home, and that has always stuck with me.
