Updating Your Outfit with Accessories

Updating Your Outfit with Accessories

Some women have enormous wardrobes and never seem to repeat the same outfit twice. Honestly…I’d have a hard time getting dressed if I had that many clothes! When I find a combo I like, I often repeat it exactly the same way and just update it with different accessories…which makes it feel new to me.

Our temps have shot into the high 90’s this week so I’m looking for ways to stay cool. That means wearing light colors and white is my favorite. I love how the texture of this Babette top gives the impression of a waistline, where none exists on me 🙂

Adding a white hat to my outfit feels fresh for summer

White handbags are very popular this season but I don’t like how fast they get dirty so I’m using my straw and wicker ones. This Kate Spade handbag must be 25 years old. I love it as much as the day I bought it…the sign of a smart purchase!

White outfits feel cool in the heat

My baby fine hair is a wreck in very hot weather. No amount of product will give it body, so covering it with a crisp looking hat is usually my answer.

Love the color and style of the top. We all need waist-slimming tops, don’t we? Wrinkles won’t show with that fabric.

Great look, Jennifer! I love all the textured tops on you!

I’ve actually been working on reducing my wardrobe, and I find that getting dressed is becoming easier! If we have clothes we love and that go together, it’s easy to put together outfits, and there is nothing wrong with wearing the same combos again and again and just changing the accessories or maybe adding different jacket, shoes, etc.

I’m in the middle of a closet slim down too Andrea. It does make it so much easier to get dressed in the morning!

I love your Kate Spade bag; it is adorable. Like you, I wouldn’t buy a white bag for practicality purposes. I’m very envious of your weather, as I curl up in a thick sweater, socks, and drink a cup of hot tea! Maybe I’ll be in white trousers like you, next week. You look inspirationally summery! Thank you for hosting! xx

Love the blouse, you are right it accents your waist and you look cool as a “cucumber” as they say in the south!

Beautiful outfit. And the sage green color is fabulous on you! I will admit I am one of those women who has enough clothes to never repeat the same exact outfit twice! I wear the same pieces over and over again, but I could create an infinite number of combinations I think! Oh well, it’s what I do for fun!

It’s tough to get started on the closet clean-out but feels so good when it’s done! Fun to co-host with you too Cherie.

Quite Lovely, Jennifer! I need to really donate 90% of the clothes in my closet. How does one make that leap? When i was younger, I was much better at “letting go” and having a more organized closet with nice outfits and little to think about, just like you are speaking of here. Thanks for the push!

I start by turning on a bright light and being brutally honest with myself. Do I love it? Does it make me look fabulous? Do I wear it? Good luck Karen.
