Would You Wear This: Peplum Jacket

Happy Saturday ladies and welcome to the weekend. Weā€™re on the final countdown to Christmas and Iā€™m almost ready. I’m heading to San Francisco today to spend some special time with my daughter Vanessa. I don’t see her nearly enough so treasure the times we have.

Pam canā€™t join us for our weekly would you wear it this weekend. I spotted this mannequin yesterday and would love your thoughts on it. I like to hear your opinions on what mannequins are wearing because it helps me understand how you want to dress for your shape and lifestyle.

peplum sweater – there is some sort of ruffled collar added which I can’t find a link for.

So tell me, ladies, would you wear what sheā€™s wearing?

Please tell me why or why not as it relates to yourĀ silhouette and lifestyle.

Here are the weekend sale updates.

Ann Taylor – 40% off full pricedĀ items and free shipping over $125 with the code WRAPITUP

Thanks for reading and have a great day.

  1. Yes I would wear this. I love the style and the design on the jacket.

  2. The top is gorgeous, but there is no way my broad shouldered, short waisted figure could wear it. I think only a tiny long necked, long waisted woman could wear this. I love the detailing on the topā€”if only it were looser at the waist and had a scoop or v-neck.
Thanks for taking into account the shapes of your readers.

  3. Cute top! Although I wouldn’t wear it. I am (very) large busted, I need open V-neck tops, to look my best. The crop pants are not at the right length for my body shape, but I can see them on other’s who would look good in them.

  4. I like the peplum, it’s forgiving, but I’m not wild about the collar or the print. That much black is too severe for me. I like something a little more casual/relaxed around the collar. Peplums are hard to find, like drop waist dresses, which are also easy to wear and more forgiving. Any ideas on where to find some cute drop waist dresses?

    1. I love peplums too. The collar is not part of the sweater. Drop waist dresses havenā€™t been on trend for awhile so I havenā€™t seen too many

  5. I like peplums, but I’m too short waisted to wear them. They look like a silly ruffle on me.

I like the shape and fit of the jacket but don’t care for the embellishments. I think this would be beautiful in a subtly textured black fabric. I like it with the black pants, but I’m just not a fan of this shorter length. I have a long torso and short legs so this pant length is not good on me. Overall, it’s a classy look!

  7. I agree with Paulette…if I were built like a mannequin, I would wear this! But sadly I am not. Missed joining in today with you Jennifer, but will return next Saturday!!

  8. I like the sophistication and elegance of the outfit and would wear it if the color and neckline suited me, but sadly they do not. I will no longer buy black garments, so this is a hard no for me.

  9. I do like a peplum ( tiny waist ) but I donā€™t like the high collar on it, nor the flowers. I would definite pass. The cropped pants, if they fit well, would come home with me. They would showcase my booties and look sharp with high heels ( but not too high! ).
Have fun in the city with Vanessa!
    Merry Christmas Jennifer!
