Everything I Bought from Amazon This Month: June 2023

With its wide selection, convenience, fast shipping, and outstanding customer service, it’s no wonder why so many people (especially me!) love shopping at Amazon. Their unparalleled convenience and fast, free shipping is really hard to beat. I’ve had some things delivered within hours of ordering! I love that with just a few clicks, I can browse through an extensive range of products from various categories, all available at my fingertips. Whether you’re looking for electronics, household items, books, or clothing, Amazon has it all. I thought it might be fun to share a roundup of everything I bought from Amazon this month. It’s an eclectic mix that changes monthly.

If you want to see what other items I recommend from Amazon, check out these posts:

Everything I Bought from Amazon This Month: June 2023

Truvani Plant Based Chocolate Flavored Protein

This stuff is delicious! I used another powder for years, but once I tasted this…it’s all I use in my morning smoothie. If you struggle to get enough protein into your diet like I do, try incorporating a protein powder into your daily diet. This one from Truvani is made with just a few high-quality organic ingredients, unlike many protein powders that have an ingredient list as long as your arm. It’s a plant-based pea protein powder that has no soy, wheat, dairy, gluten, or stevia and is sweetened with organic monk fruit.

Rechargeable Book Light

I’ve been reading a lot this year (you can see my recent book recommendations here), and I needed a new book light so I could read in the evenings and at night without straining my eyes. This one is under $12 with a long-lasting, rechargeable battery. I loved it so much I bought my husband one so he can read in bed if I fall asleep before him.

Outlive: The Science and Art of Longevity

I listened to this book on Audible and thoroughly enjoyed it, so I decided to grab a physical copy for both of my children. Then I discovered I have aortic atherosclerosis and listened to the whole thing again! He’s quite brilliant and makes complex topics easy to understand. This book is a valuable resource for anyone interested in extending their lifespan and improving their overall quality of life.

Rogaine Hair Regrowth Treatment

This is another product that you’ve heard me talk about again and again. My physician suggested I try 5% Rogaine for men to slow the thinning of my hair and encourage regrowth. Itā€™s something that I truly canā€™t live without. If youā€™re suffering from thinning hair, you may enjoy this post to see some solutions Iā€™ve come up with.

Iā€™ve found the very best pricing on Amazon and order 3 bottles every 5-6 months. If you stop using Rogaine, the new hair will eventually thin out, so I continue to use it daily. You can see how I apply it to my hair in this blog post.

Lack of Color Wide Boater Hat

I am a hat lover through and through. Many of mine are fedoras, but I adore the boater style and added this one to my collection earlier this month. It has an internal elastic around the inside that snugs to my head and keeps it in place on a breezy day. Some of my other favorite hats are here.

Ear Hooks for Airpods

My Airpods will not stay on my ears. I had been using these little rubber hooks to keep them in, but when I wear them around the house, bending and stooping, I found they kept falling out. I bought these ones and they NEVER fall out. If your earbuds fall out in a public place like the airport or grocery store, they either land in the dirt or onto a filthy floor! These ear hooks help secure your Airpod earbuds in your ear and get a comfortable fit.

Kevin Murphy Session Spray Flex

Iā€™ve used Kevin Murphy products for years. They work brilliantly and give great results, especially for those of us who are struggling with our hair thinning as we get older. This is my favorite hair spray to use. It doesn’t make my hair feel stiff or hard but gives the perfect amount of hold to help me maintain volume and it’s cruelty-free.

Diamond Dazzle Stik

I bought these little portable jewelry cleaning sticks to bring on my trip and I love them! They’re tiny to pack and give a great result.

Vionic Orthotic Insoles

Happy, comfortable feet are of utmost importance to me as I age. I found these orthotic insoles from Vionic when researching for another post and decided that I needed to try them out for myself. I will report back on them after I’ve had time to see how I like them.

Om Mushroom Hot Chocolate Blend

This is one of those products that I order all the time since I use it often. After watching Fantastic Fungi on Netflix, I knew I wanted to find other ways to add them to my diet. Once I found this indulgent hot chocolate blend with four kinds of mushrooms and ashwagandha, we began using it as an after-dinner treat.

Ashwagandha Supplement

Ashwagandha, an ancient medicinal herb, offers numerous potential benefits for overall well-being. It is known to have adaptogenic properties, helping the body cope with stress and promoting a sense of calm and relaxation. Additionally, ashwagandha may support improved cognitive function, boost energy levels, and enhance immune system function. I had been taking it in the morning until I watched one of Dr Attia’s podcasts where he recommended it at night, so now I take it before bed.

Purito B5 Panthenol Re-Barrier Cream

I have several Purito products in my skincare routine, so I knew when I saw this re-barrier cream that I wanted to add it to my lineup. This cream is both an emollient and humectant with exceptional moisturizing benefits. It helps strengthen the skin barrier and serves as a protection against environmental stressors. This is a high-performance ingredient that soothes the skin, providing instant relief to redness and irritation. This cruelty-free Korean line is affordably priced and never irritates my rosacea.

A Few More Items I Bought from Amazon This Month:

I know my list is random, so I’d love to know what you find on Amazon.

  1. My husband thinks I have an Amazon habit! I bought the Chocolate Truvani but donā€™t have a personal size blender. So one is one the way! I get most of my face products and a lot of my hair products on Amazon. I get all of my books as I buy them in the e-format for my iPad then I buy the Audible version of most to listen too while I am doing other things. I was surprised that you have trouble with your AirPods falling out. Iā€™m grateful mine stay put. But that is a great idea to use in an airport. Extra precautions. Oh, I bought several pairs of Skechers too. Once I know my size I can order online shoes. We are Prime members so shipping is free. I love a lot of shows they produce as well. The list is too long for here. It is 50 miles to shop live for us.

    1. I have the Amazon habit for sure!! But it does save me time and money…I’m convinced of it :).

  2. Good selection tho the $$$ sure added up.
Continue to enjoy using. Thanks for sharing/making us aware of the products.

  3. DeeAnn Boyd says:

Would like to know how you like the vionic inserts. And any others that you like.

    1. I like them a lot. Great arch support!

  4. My husband bought earbuds with hooks after his non-hook earbuds popped out into the sink while he was washing dishes. Thanks for making me smile at that little memory today!

    1. Lol! Youā€™d think Apple could figure this out!

  5. Good morning Jennifer, I watched your application video for Rogaine. You don’t massage the solution into your scalp, why not? Doesn’t it drip?
I order everything from Amazon. My coffee machine broke and I got a new one on the same day, can you believe it? I live 20 miles away from civilization so I use Amazon all the time.
Saves money on gas and wear and tear on my car.
Do you use the retinol cream on your face?
Thank you for doing all the research!

    1. I donā€™t usually massage it in. As I draw the dropper across my scalp, Iā€™m releasing very slowly and itā€™s just dries. It I do use too much, Iā€™ll rub it in then wash my hands.

  6. Rosemary Gregory says:

Hey Jennifer! The comment box is too small to list everything I buy from Amazon! I always charge website for prices and four star reviews.
Several days ago you mentioned a new mascara you love. When you have a moment would you let us know. Also, any suggestions on eyelash serums? My eyelashes are falling out!
    Have a fun weekend!

  7. Just thought I’d share my experience with thinning hair, in January I started growing out my pixie with 1/2″ hair all around and shaved nape & sides, it is now in a thick beautiful almost chin length bob (back is only to the nape, so a ways to go) but my hair previously was very thin/stringy so my hairdresser had me start taking flax seed oil capsules every morning, which you can look up about why it helps hair grow and get thick and Neocell Collagen with Biotin and C which you start loading till you get to where your levels should be, it diminishes with age. I thought she was crazy and I was doomed to have a thin short pixie for life but this works, it took about 3 1/2 months to see the change and also no chemicals in my hair products (no parabans, sulfates, alcohol, etc) which I’m sure you already use clean hair products. Anyway worth a try

    1. Wow, thatā€™s great to hear. I put ground flax seed in my smoothies but Iā€™m sure itā€™s not as much as in a capsule. Iā€™ll look in to all of this. Thank you!!

  8. I also buy Rogaine on Amazon. So much less expensive then purchasing at a beauty store. I can testify to Ashwagandha helping with sleep. It is really helping me!

    1. Itā€™s helping me sleep better too!

  9. Iā€™m sorry to hear you have atherosclerosis. My mother in law had that but never stopped smoking. Sadly, she passed at 54. I know you stopped smoking years ago. Itā€™s very personal but as a reader I wonder what you do when you have this disease – medication, change of lifestyleā€¦

    1. They just started me in a statin, even though my cholesterol is low. Itā€™s to prevent further build up.

  10. Iā€™m really interested in how you like the Vionic insoles. Please report back.

    1. They’re great! They give great arch support and I can swap them into most of my shoes.

  11. The only thing that I can think of that I buy on Amazon is organic walnuts — and only when I can’t find them locally.

    1. I never thought Iā€™d that! We always get ours at Costco

  12. Pat Patterson says:

Happy weekend Jennifer, thanks for the great selection, my personal favorite is the hat, itā€™s going the Mediterranean with me in august! Have a marvelous weekendšŸ˜Ž

    1. Happy weekend, Pat. How fun! Have a fabulous trip.

  13. Daneen Hirbe says:

I noticed the 5% Rogaine you purchased says ā€œnot for womenā€. Is it really for men only and if so why purchase it?Do they make products for ladies?

    1. Itā€™s not just got women. They make other 5% foam for women but it made my hair oily. Itā€™s a marketing decision. I supposed (or the brand assumes)men wouldnā€™t want to use something that wasnā€™t marketed just for them.

    2. I have used Nioxin shampoo and conditioner for years since since it was recommended to me after chemo. My hairdresser told me my hair will thin if I stop using it so I just keep it up! Now I alternate with purple Milk Shake Silver Shine since going gray.
